Its funny 'cause before I found you on youtube, I went online and just started looking some up that I intend to get, I made a short list geared towards what I want to be able to draw well and I've seen the one you mentioned in this video before, and now I'm going to add it to my list lol.

Cool. Yeah, you'll love this book by Hogarth. The drawings are kind of kiddish, but it gets the point across.

OMG. Thank you! I’m learning how to draw realistically and I’m struggling with shading properly. I noticed that the darkest tone always has a bright spot next to it. You explained the bright allows the darkest come across darkest! The cherry on top “the “cylinder” shading” example - the lines you put on the barrel. . I really needed someone to point out the shading shapes - point to cloth and show where on the paper you applied shadow. Thank you! 👁

I always avoided the fold, thinking it's too complicated but after watching your absulutly brilliant explanation I understand now that there is no difference from drawing fold and an object skill wise, yes it's more complex but same skills applied on both. Thanks a million!

Yes, I'm glad the video was able to carry that point across. Thanks for watching.

DUDE. thank you so much! Ive watched how to digitally draw metal and the guy went through the same terms such as referring about reflective light and the source of light. I'm the type of artist who just needs to thoroughly look at the problem for a day before I can draw it without a problem (that's if I literally do nothing besides learning and watching people explain for the whole day lol) again, thank you so much, I'm really trying to be talented and one of the best at a young age

Hi Wei, I really love this tutorial. Seldom we get to see a tut done about "how to think about cloth", because most other tuts try to demonstrate the different type of cloth folds without actually explaining how to render the forms. Thanks a lot! Quick question though: What's a good practice for painting cylindrical forms? I have trouble seeing how the light source affects the lighting on them, especially metallic cylindrical forms.

Yeah that emphasis on the little contrast is important. If you draw a hand hold object , work on the contrast where the finger wraps around the object. helps bring the drawing live.

Kilyén Balázs A lot about drawing is the ability to see things correctly. That's why I have some videos on seeing and drawing accurately. Once you can see it, then you can draw it. With cloth and with a lot of other things, shading in the correct value is crucial.

Hey, good Viedeo :) Could you pls Help me? I dont know, if it is better to study something special or to tke a study where you learn nearly all things (drawing, Programming, 3D, Webdesign, Film etc.) but more in generall?
@ArtofWeiHo10 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, that really depends on what you want to do. If you have a passion for a specific field, you gotta go for it. But I would definitely suggest exploring other areas as well. The fields you've listed is very broad, especially mixing programming with drawing=). That's like opposite ends of the spectrum. Haha. Figure out what is it that you like most. Then as you study in that area, you will probably notice that you need to learn other skills. Then you can dabble in those areas to support your MAIN interest. For example, in 3D, there's modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting, animations, and renderings. Most 3D artist has some knowledge in all those areas, but they are usual good at only one of two. And they are able to find work just by knowing those two skills, or even one. So basically, you need to find out what drives you. Find out what is it that will keep you working late nights.
@paulschlachter419110 жыл бұрын
WeiWorks Thanks a lot for quick answering, I like gamedesign very much but I am afraight, that finding a job in this brache is not easy and getting a similiar job (like Industrial design) is hard too with this specification, would you agree or would you say, that the portfoli, that shows what you really can do is more important than the degree?

@cylor12310 жыл бұрын
like i tried to do a tea cup and i could not get the right side the same as the left
@ArtofWeiHo10 жыл бұрын
I see. It's always tough to draw perfectly symetrical. You can always sketch in guidelines so you can get it accurate. If you're doing a cup at a 3-quarter view, you can sketch in the cross-sections of the cup to guide you. Basically a bunch of elipses. Or find the center line and do quick measurements to both sides.

Whenever I draw. When it come to drawing clothes I hate it. Because it’s hard to do the shading and the curves hahahahaha. Just hate it when I don’t have a lot of time anymore. There is so much going on. I’m trying to spend my time with my family and friends. Because I might not see them again. I get in accident almost every week now. Shit just happen. You won’t see it coming. It doesn’t matter how careful you are. If shit happen it well happen. And you won’t know when and how it is.
