Mate...your Jeep engine is an L134 and is totally repairable. Just have the bores resleeved to original size which is 20 thou. Get the block hole welded up and make sure you use a cast iron MMA rod and heat the weld spot up with an oxygen torch before welding. Take it to a machine shop and get it shot peened, baked and magnafluxed and then go from there. They will have cracks from the head studs to the water cooling channel holes and check around the distributor for cracks laterally. If you're looking for parts get onto Neil at Marathon Spares in NSW or Nigel Ward from Milspares in Brisbane. He has all the parts you need to rebuild those transfer cases. What you want to check is the thrust washer faces for the main gear shaft. You want these flat and clean. Give me a shout if you want help, I might have some extra part too.

@xacoupeguy slowly getting stuff done, lots of blasting of parts and red oxide. The weather up here is either ridiculously hot or ridiculously wet so it hard to get a day when you can paint outdoors. I also couldn't buy a new laptop and the ipad I was using also has wrapped itself so I need to post up some videos on my phone...and that's a bit of a challenge itself. I will post an update video soon, just hard when you only get an hour if lucky after work, kids, wife, life to do stuff with basically zero dollars.

Loved the tank footage. I have been lucky enough to have been driven around the exact same track in a Ford V8 powered chassis and also a “proper” Stuart some years ago when I accompanied Glenn on Man and Machine filming. It was great fun. 👍

anything you tinker with is always good to watch be it customer cars or what you are doing with your own projects. Seeing how you check what needs to be done, strip it down and assess what is needed and improvise where needed when parts cannot be sourced.

I had one of these about 10 yrs ago. Got it with good mechanicals but shite electricals n lotsa rust! Mates helped me with assorted panel repairs, while l rebuilt the seat frames, windscreen frame n bonnet! Took over a year part time. I prepped the body n had a mate (pannel beater) do the final 2 coats. My son helped heaps (was to be his)...he had it on the road about 2 years, had a huge amount of fun n sold it to a bloke in H/Bay Qld....it's disapeared!

Gday,..l have a 1944 GPW Jeep . It was a total basket case when l bought it. Two engine blocks in far worse condition than the one you have, and l rebuilt it. Jeeps completely restored now and drives like new. All engine, gearbox ,transfer case and diff parts are available new from Marathon Spares or Milspares. Your engine can be repaired,so don’t be discouraged. 👍🏻

We'll watch whatever you're doing Graham - if your enthusiasm is with historic military vehicles - then go for it. Of course it's always good seeing old Falcons and the EJ getting a-grade restoration work - how about bringing in a Valiant to change things up!

Hi Graham, I’ve got Galaxies, a Pontiac, a ‘28 Ford and a Humber FV1600 but my bias is towards the military stuff. I’m only into old cars because I can’t afford the military vehicles I want but I’d only want those because I can’t afford all the WW2 fighter aircraft I really want.

@@xacoupeguy Yeah, people want everything for nothing and act like they are doing you a favour by giving you Jack shit for it. You are having way too much fun with that old Stewie! Now you need to build one with a Guiberson? There was a fellow by the name of Des Cowie that built a Guiberson powered one a decade or so ago. I sent him some 975 parts for a Sherman he was building. I have not heard anything from him for quite some time, I hope he is doing ok?
