I like how most people in the comments section, realize that they could never make it to an institution like HBS and so deem it necessary to assume that those that made it come from a place of privilege. And that is poor, because not only are you being self-destructive but also being the source of demotivation to someone who aspires to make it to HBS but reads an array of such comments and chooses to believe it. Not to say that there aren't those that make it there because of external factors and not necessarily because they've got what it takes, but I bet that makes 5-10% of the batch else the exit options wouldn't be this lucrative. So for those of you who aspire to make it there and aren't from a place of privilege, you very well can! (The odds are stacked against you, but who cares?)

You wrote a whole essay on why people are upset about Harvard. The reality is that a lot of these people are assholes. You can tell by the way most are tall, healthy and good looking -- that isn't normal. The average person is short, a little fat and a little bit ugly. It only gets worse from there, as these types of places breed superiority complexes where people begin to look down on normal people. Nothing about any of that is good.

Biggest piece of advice: Stay humble. Nobody wants to hire arrogant and entitled MBAs. Go into industries with the understanding that you know a lot less than you think you do. Street smarts, agility and courage outweigh a data model every day of the week in business.

Harvard like any other institution, they don't fail students... If you failed to attend classes either they will mark you incomplete or no credit like you never took the credit at all... So technically there is no failing rate... They also do have a low pass mark, wherein layman's term, it is the lower than passing mark, they will not ask you not to return, instead, they will ask you to attend some remedial or alternative classes, but they will never kick you out...
