DEREM is supposed to be how the word “dream” is pronounced! So the product is basically called “REM Dream”. Makes sense cause rapid eye movement is the stage of falling asleep and it’s sort of connected to how dream patterns work (as you mentioned). It’s a cute play on words!

I think that the trait that Wally constantly having his mind racing with ideas so much he can't sleep is another Autistic esce trait. I have had that problem before and I have been diagnosed. Of course, this is a thing that just abut anyone can do so it's not a definitive symptom.
