Hi from France, Hey my home town Melbourne,great to see a new video. I'm 61 now,i drive à petrol tanker here in France,did heaps of general freight back in Australia, dogs,chains,tarps,Roadranger gearbox. But um,to be honest, it's a bit more than a simple job,it's more a lifestyle, alot of sacrifice,for not much in return. All that said i've seen alot of countries through the windscreen of a truck,from the Simpson Desert to six feet (well...three feet) of snow in Chezeslovakia...it's what you make of it. Great to see your videos once again.

Sorry for the late reply. Finally have some time to catch up on things, When you go on a trucking adventure you go all out. Don't miss those good old days, I'll take a tautliner and auto truck, I'm 60 this year. Have changed jobs in the last three weeks gave up the Kenworth for a Benz. Video coming soon. Crazy time we are in right now. Stay safe. Catch you soon.

Rod if you were in dandy would it be easier to go the back way through Yarra glen or it's a bit tricky pulling a double, and thanks rod for latest vid. Cheers again.
@australiantruckerrod10702 жыл бұрын
Personal choice works out about the same time, I would go Yarra Glen, but the boss preferred us going down the Monash onto to Ring rd in case of breakdowns. Can get foggy out that road a little more dangerous on the curvy roads.

It’s mainly drivers not of this land that are not sticking to highway etiquette Rod. You know drivers who at the bottom of Adelaide Hills coming off Portrush Road to head up the hill are turning left from the right lane along side a truck who is turning from the left lane ends up cutting the inside truck off. Or even instead of backing off when being overtaken on passing lanes to let the slightly quicker truck around and let him on his way. Just one or 2 examples,, keep it safe Rod and I agree you’ve done your apprenticeship and more than entitled to home comforts of an auto truck. Well done

Gday Rod! Hit the nail on the head with the fact overtaking nobody wants to give etc. I'm finding alot more drivers aren't flashing you back in now. Or even finding alot of drivers don't have their UHF on now too.
@benjaminbardzinski36662 жыл бұрын
I don't flash drivers in during the day time, during the night of course. I find it particularly annoying when you flash them and they give you a light show and then 1 minute after they drive into the lane and then get another light show. True no one is on the radio when up the road and only on when there is an accident like the other night at Table Top before the Wagga Wagga turn off. There are that many idiots on the air waves that it's not worth listening to.
@australiantruckerrod10702 жыл бұрын
Have also noticed that some flash you back in when just a metre passed their truck. I let them know that I'm staying out longer with a right flash. In saying that some just keep flashing until you come over.

I'd love to see how you do electronic logs? There are different systems here. ELDs are not mandated yet in Canada, so we can do it on paper. I prefer using the Keep Trucking app. If you work for a company that goes to the USA, it's built-in to the truck's computer.
@benjaminbardzinski36662 жыл бұрын
The company I work for wants us to use the electronic work diary. I've been using it for three days now and you don't have to wait for the next 15 minute, which is good and it records your location because of the gps and you just have to change your odometer. It lets you know when you're supposed to have your next break and counts how long you've been on the break.
@australiantruckerrod10702 жыл бұрын
Australia does not have mandatory electronic logs ( for now), companies can use them as Ben mentioned, I work for a small company, they will only get them if they need to. Paper cheat sheets for us, OLD SKOOL. Have a great day.

They are the same guards. They were painted white, but maybe due to the flex in the guards the paint started to crack, when washed with high pressure hose would lift and peel the paint. They where looking for a solution, maybe different undercoat. But unfortunately some of the workshop staff left, and trucking got in the way.

Hi, Sorry for the late reply, The cost of a Kenworth K200 with the larger cab is approximately between $350,000 and $400,000 Aus Dollars ( 19598005 - 22397720 Rupee ) Hope this conversion is right. You need to check the cost to import a vehicle into India with customs duty, I believe it is 165% of the cost of the Vehicle. With the freight cost, Import duty, and cost of a K200 this would not be cost-effective. Also, all parts for repair would also have to be imported from Australia or New Zealand. I believe this would be possible, new or used K200 if you have the money to spend. To have I think the only K200 in India would be the best thing.
