My favorite thing??? You don't hide a mistake when it happens... instead, you use it as a quick teaching moment to show how to fix it. I *love* that! We're all human, and you don't hide that mistakes happen even to the most experienced sewist... it's how you deal with those mistakes that make all of the difference.

I went from having just a few basic machine skills to being able to make garments I would never have DREAMED that I would be able to make all thanks to you Gertie and team! Thank you for being such amazing teachers and for making a creative and fun space for us❤

I started following you in the old days. Before your first collab with a major pattern company. Before you lost weight. I lost track of you when it was clear that your pattern releases excluded my sizing. No resentment, no shade. It was awesome to watch you succeed at your chosen career and I wished you well as I moved on to other creators who met my needs. Just this week the YT algorithm plopped you in my feed. I was curious to know how you were doing so I looked at your channel. You are still a great teacher. And you still have that awesome sense of style that drew me to you when you were first starting. But, more than that, you have chosen to increase your sizing options (Yay!) AND I can finally choose some of your patterns without having to grade them up a few sizes. Thank you Gertie. As of a few minutes ago, I’m a happy Patreon Inner Circle member. So delighted I get to spend some time with your fabulous creations.

Gertie, this is an excellent introduction and I wish I could share it with the worldwide sewing community! My sewing journey began with you in lockdown with a simple circle skirt. I'm so proud of the progress I've made and the confidence I've gained through all of your tutorials, patterns, and an in-person workshop. These skills have translated to other projects and other types of sewing, like bags and homewares. I love your creative and kind team and I'm always so proud to wear your designs!

As a chicken 🐓🐓(I balk (bawk!) at starting to sew garments), how can I tell what patterns are good for a new person? Seriously, with the cost of fabric, I really don't want to screw up! Although, I have been a quilter and small projects sewist for quite few years!
