Oh Jeanette, I’m feeling just the same at the moment - too many things on the go and too many projects that I want to start! 😂 It’s a neverending battle not to feel overwhelmed by the crafty hobbies that we love so much… lists are definitely a help… and a good excuse to use a lovely journal! I love a list, and the best thing about a list is the ticks you get when you’ve achieved something. When I start a new project I underline it in green and when it’s finished I underline it in red! Simple things …..

I agree with you Jeanette I decided months ago that 2024 was the year for finishing projects, no commissions and to really consider and enjoy planning my projects rather than doing stuff other people are doing and rushing to the shops to buy more stuff with no time to use them 🥴 good luck!

Hi dear Jeanette - I totally understand your overwhelmed feeling - I think it’s a matter of finding your own level of comfort 😊I mainly knit and I find that 3 things on the go is enough for me! At the moment I’m making a pair of socks (good for car knitting if I’m not driving of course 😂), a cardi for my 2 year old granddaughter and a longer term project, a farmyard playset for her little sister’s first birthday next July. Any more than that and I don’t get the satisfaction of finishing anything and I just feel that it’s a slog!! And of course those lists of priority projects help immensely - good luck 🍀

Oh Jeanette, it's so easy to feel overwhelmed when you do so much! I am trying to stick to one crochet, one embroidery and one knitting project at a time. I had 3 blanket packs before Christmas including the Persian Tiles but have put the yarn into the stash cupboard, so I can't see the packs anymore. That really helped. I hope your list helps.

The first thought 💭 that popped into my head was “we need a month-long CAL focussed on finishing up some of these wips - #WipsToFos Cal?” …but then my second thought was “Lee, we are all already overwhelmed with our projects as it is, that’s a dreadful idea” 😂! All that to say, I hear you, Jeanette 💝! Very much finding myself in a similar situation at the moment 😅 Love the journaling idea. Lists are the best 💝 I’ve also recently found that following your ‘crojo’ is a great way to reduce project-related stress, too. Whatever I feel like working on when I sit down, that’s what I’ll pop my hook into. New project or old, it doesn’t matter. Working on what you’re finding the most joy in in that moment has been really wonderful and has been working well for me lately. Only trouble is, I have added to my WIP collection 😫 the never-ending crocheter’s battle continues 😅💕 I cannot WAIT for your Persian Tiles project 🥳 So excited for it. Wonderful visit as always! I'm right with you there Jeanette. I do get overwhelmed with what I've got and then I go and buy more yarn, without even a plan of what I'm going to make, hence why I've got too much yarn (can you ever have too much though 😉). I also have mini micro obsessions with things, I'm on a Toft obsession at the minute. Thankfully I've got a LOT of Toft yarn so that will keep me busy and happy for a while without the need to spend any money. And to top it all I've decided I'm going to knit me and Chris a hat for when we go to Scotland at Easter (hopefully we won't need them but it doesn't matter if we don't) and I've decided to start a large blanket project for my friend whose birthday is in just over a week's time....obviously I'm not going to get it finished, but I can tell her what she will be getting, eventually. So on that note I hope you feel a little better and that you know there's a lot more of us than you think. Happy crafting and have a lovely weekend with Katie xxx

I am just like you with my long list of projects I want to make. I agree it can feel overwhelming at times so I devised a new way to approach this that is working for me. I purchased from Amazon an A4 whiteboard with coloured markers and I list three projects on the hook then those in line to make. I also made small project cards for these projects detailing things like what yarn I need, where the pattern is stored and the hook size. I find it really satisying when I remove completed projects off the board or start new ones. It feels like I have some sort of control of the situation.

Why don't you do like denise ,from Deer Designs and Amanda from Mouse's Makes Yarns do, they put all projects on a piece of paper,put them in a bowl or jar, then pick one everyday. Then put the one you've done, in another jar, and just repeat this
