My cat likes to “help” me sew too. It’s so sweet because our kitties are just trying to mimic us. I just work around him. And I keep the threads away from him in a paper bag as I sew because they can swallow them and it can cause emergency situations if swallowed.

How do I pick out good thread when thrift shopping? I heard thread can go bad if stored for too long or stored in a "bad way.

I've never thrifted thread so I don't know for sure, but I would start by making sure it's still strong and not brittle :)
