Duel Corp has been on my radar for a while, since I believe Iron Pineapple covered it. Souls-likes are my favorite genre, up there with Metroidvanias and Survival Horror games, so I'm happy for you to cover them! I'm definitely going to play Duel Corp when it fully releases, I think it looks fun and its aesthetic is very appealing to the eyes.

the art style here is pretty nice. it reminds me of a mid 2000's PC game so sign me up ironically i just finished a dark souls clone recently called Steel Rising wish i had a lot of fun with.

I LOVE love love love love the aesthetics of this game, reminds me of like PS1 games that used 2D sprites in 3D environments (I know that isn't what it is, but it looks like it, gives the same vibe); I'm super interested in playing this now, I might wait till it's farther along, but checking out the demo sounds really fun, might have to. Either way, this video made me a fan of this game and I super hope it turns out well and they can make a full release in a reasonable length of time.

Anyone have news on this game? The Steam page says it's releasing in Early Access in 2024, and that ends in less than 2 months. The demo is no longer available either.

it seems the male and female are just voice options which I appreciate very much because honestly full customization with as little explicit gendering as possible is both efficient and thoughtful

I can see how not having any explicitly gendered options tied to character sex or gender is great, but the options should still be in there eventually for folks that do want to make their character more physcially masculine or feminine.
