I don't suffer from social anxiety but sometimes, being in a huge airport in a city I've never been to can be overwhelming. I remember getting lost in Frankfurt back in 2009. It must have been off-season for the Germans because the airport felt deserted. I was so nervous that I went to the security checkpoint and begged for help. They were very professional. I was escorted to a security office nearby and they were able to quickly find out where the gate was. The ticket was part of the problem. American Airlines was responsible for the entire trip but they had Swiss International fly me from Frankfurt to Madrid. I have no idea why the ticket had the AA logo and not Swiss'. Code sharing almost always causes me mass confusion, LOL.

Flew into the north terminal. Easy to take the tram to the south terminal to get a train to London Bridge station. Due to the train strikes, I needed to book a cab to drive me back to the airport from my hotel. The ride was about an hour. There was no traffic. Ask your hotel about the strikes so you'll be prepared.

North feels more open and looks bigger woth it's bridge but apparently according to research thr South is bigger. That's interesting. I've been from both terminals. North was during July 2021 when it was recovering from covid so don't know what it'd be like when at normal numbers

@quame_kbt hopefully but only if it don't go from LCY. I might try n do the BA to Malta from LGW next year. I cane back into LGW in April but flew from LHR. Prefer LCY through choice as closer but they're more limited and don't do Malta yet

I would love if you could give me a description of how to go through security, thanks
@b1llyfth7472 жыл бұрын
Tbh you just put your bags and metal stuff and electronic devices, (just basically empty out your pockets) and put it on a tray and it as it will go on a conveyor belt to X ray the stuff you’ll just walk through a metal detector and if it beeps the security person will just search you and let you through and u can go back to your tray and take your stuff back.

B33ma, you would have to take Southern or SouthWestern Railways to Portsmouth. Usually you have to change at Guildford. You can always check online for updates!

Every one say it with me , Gatwick express sucks. Its 5 mins quicker than local southern trainlines and its very expensive. Scam.
