It's fascinating to me how some prisoners want to learn and better themselves when they've already thrown their life away. I was an alcoholic from 18- 38 and rather than risk my life and others. I locked myself in my room for hours a day with canned soup, crackers, peanut butter, water and books. When i wasnt at work for 5-9 hours a day. I was in my room reading and working out. Went from an unhealthy weight at 135 pounds to 155 and healthy. In those 6 weeks. Its a mindset.

If you took anothers life and are sentenced to life without parole, why do you feel you should be allowed to live especially when others have to pay for you to continue to live? You took someone's life then yours should be over also.

If the death penalty exists, innocent people are inevitably going to to be put to death. It is completely unacceptable for any innocent person to be put to death for a crime they didn’t commit

If it is 100 % proof they did it then yes. Gone the next day. No need for taxpayers to foot the bill period. Don't like it? Don't care. Every one has an opinion. Continue on with your day.

I worked at two prisons in California in academic and vocational programs. It was a very good experience for the first 20 years because staff had a tremendous amount of discretion in terms of running, virtually, everything. When Governor Brown came back into office, things really started to change--for the worse. The liberal mindset is that we must be understanding to make things run well and actually help people; the conservative mindset is that rules, boundaries, and self-discipline are necessary to make young men become disciplined themselves. I learned a tremendous amount working there. Thanks for reading.
