This is where I live, and that campground he shows is where I camp every year! I only live 20 minutes down from it. Cattle ranch. The campground is where Lewis and Clark stayed after they got across the mountains. It's so cool camping exactly where they did. Of course, the tribe here fed the starving group, and many of the men got sick from the plant that is common around here and has been used for food for hundreds of years. I think it was the Camas plant. Many uses. They just weren't used to it and spent some time, well, throwing up. They were okay though. They were starving after all.

Thanks for the comments. I produced this video, wrote the script and had an awesome time working with videographer Hank Nystrum and our guide/production assistant, Robert Millage of Kamiah. If you haven't been to the area, I highly recommend it.

Wow. This video actually makes me a little proud to live here. True there isn't a lot going on inside of town, but I mostly live here for the outdoors part of it anyway.

Jason from Maryland here The area is gorgeous.. listen to what I say.. gorgeous, understand? Flew from MD 10/22 to SeaTac, flipped to Moscow/Pullman, bought a 34 year old Jeep, and drove home, 2500+ miles. 1. Jeep is King. Period. 2. Going back in my fully kitted WJ this 10/20ish/20? 2.

Great video except he kept pronouncing NIMIIPUU wrong.... its, "Nee- mee- poo". Other than that, I loved it! I was raised here and it's called gods country for a reason. Beautiful is an understatement! The people are great! Very humble. And these two special fellas talking down on it have no clue what they are talking about...

I was raised near Spokane and think that there are very beautiful places in Idaho. Unfortunately I draw the line at the people. The people of Idaho are very wierd, extremely racist and a little paranoid. Idaho is also is one of the states with the highest number of multi-generational inbreeding families amongst their population. Growing up we learned that inbreeding is huge in Idaho, especially in the pan handle and places like Mountain Home and you can tell there's been inbreeding going on by looking at some of the people. On the positive side, Idaho is a great place to fish, just try to avoid the locals like I did, or at least keep the conversation to a minimum and you'll be fine

D Harrell .....You are sooooo wrong......something happened to you in Idaho and you are blaming everyone for it unfairly and making up stories. Your stories about “inbreeding” are laughable, Mountain Home is a U.S. Air Force base located on the main I-84 Interstate for crying out loud. Learn to deal with whatever made you angry, let it go, stop slandering innocent good people.
