I adore watching you paint! I always learn so many gems because of your gift for teaching and ability to convey your vision through your art. I also appreciate the perspective you share about your journey, the trials and tribulations of the human condition that make the journey so relatable for us all (I can speak for everyone, right?!?) Thank you so much for giving your time here 🫶🏻

Hi Mr. Schaller! I'm so happy that you're sharing your gifts and experiences with us here on KZbin 🙂 I have followed your work, watched and learned from your past videos and continue to learn from you. I am delighted that you'll be more active on KZbin and look forward to learning more. I would love to take your mentorship program, but I am no longer a watercolorist. Everything I learned about watercolor I use to paint fine art on silk using silk dyes; the two mediums are very similar. Happy Easter and God bless! 😃

What a delight to hear your insight, Tom. Such a thoughtful and endearing talk giving encouragement to all who love watercolour painting. Bravo!! You are so very right about looking and not seeing. As a young girl, my mom attended Ecole des Beaux Arts in Montreal during the 1930’s. When I was a child, She always made me look at trees or clouds and describe in detail what I’m seeing. How I wish she were here to see your masterpieces! Take. Care 💕Vicki

I love your outlook and your focus on teaching. I just finished watching your video and was fascinated with your description of how you approach transitions. I’m floored because I truly believe you are one of the greatest watercolorist in the world!! It’s hard for me to believe you could have doubts?!? I’m retired Math teacher in a small community who fell in love with watercolor yet no access to instruction for beginners. I’m with you on experiencing the joy from the actual process of paints, water in brush on paper. It just has done something to me the very first time I put a brush down. I’ve yet to paint a piece but I’m determined. Truly, I so appreciate your generosity in sharing your knowledge and wisdom. Blessings sent your way, Nancy Rolfe I’m SO excited!! We are moving and working on the house but I’ll look into your classes!! Can’t wait and will motivate me to get my house done….❤

I just watched your demo on California Watercolor Society. You mentioned that your brushes are synthetic. I assumed they were real hair. Are they pretty floppy?
@thomaswschaller
@thomaswschaller 4 ай бұрын
Thanks - No - Genuine hair brushes - especially sable - tend to be floppy. Synthetics are the opposite - sometimes. too rigid. I use a combination - some natural hair, some synthetics, some mixed. The synthetic mops I use try to replicate the feel of natural hair, but without the floppiness . I go over all of this in Basics

It's a bad habit that many - including me - can easily fall into. But when you connect with the joy of creating and let that be your focus, it just begins to fall away and reveal itself for the waste of time that it is. Do I still have doubts and insecurities? Yes - of course - plenty of them. But they are not the focus or most important thing. They do not make me stop wanting to paint

It's very nice to meet you, Tom. I discovered your channel recenlty and I have truly enjoyed watching some of your projects. I found you by searching youtube for archetecture watercolor channels. Other subjects don't interest me a whole lot. Archetecture in watercolor is "magical" to me...I can't really say why; the light, the life, the movement all fascinate me. I look forward to learning from you. I've taken art classes, but I have not done much work of my own yet. While I love watching videos and following along, I need to start doing some of my own. I will continue watching your videos for now and plan to start branching out a little. Thank you for posting your introduction and I look forward to learning from you ❤

Hi Thomas, I am so delighted about your video! You have been a great inspiration to me since I first saw your works about 9 months ago. Even more so, I love the insights and wisdom you share in your videos. I can't thank you enough, you opened my eyes to paint how I see and feel the world instead of my formerly very realistic style that was quite unsatisfying. I just finished painting along your lesson "Winter in Central Park" and I absolutely love the colors and feel inspired to paint it once more, I made a new sketch yesterday. Your lesson encouraged me to use colors that speak to my heart and soul and transform my style that expresses more of me. I am looking forward to more of your videos , they just come at the right time🥰! Warm greetings from Germany 🌸!
