That’s the best video setup explanation I’ve seen in a while. The last KZbinr I saw doing something at this level of production and quality was Gerald Undone. I think you’ve surpassed him in attention to detail, clarity of instructions, and the usefulness of your tips.

15 years, no wonder you’re audio is so clean! Would LOVE an audio production breakdown from you, especially since you’re so experienced in that field. Maybe something like “A Beginner’s Guide to Crisp Audio” where you don’t go too deep, but maybe just focus on the fundamentals that a new person like myself can practice in order to get better and better at recording audio that is clean, but also has depth and character. I have a lot of the same/similar equipment as you, I just need the practice..That guidance would be SO helpful:) thanks for all the free help you give on this channel!!

As a tech manager, I found this tour of your tiny 9x9 foot KZbin studio setup to be incredibly informative and inspiring. You've done a great job of maximizing the small space and creating a professional looking studio with minimal gear. Your attention to detail in lighting, audio, and color grading is impressive. I also appreciate the inclusion of your gear list in the video description, it helps to see what equipment is needed to achieve a professional look. I wish I'd watched this a year ago! My new studio is also quite small but I've nerded out as usual, so it's going to be interesting to see how it looks. I've run my channel faceless so far but it's time to start doing some of the exposition direct to camera instead of shooting lots of b-roll and creating graphics. Sometimes just telling the story works better. I'm using my Sony 40mm lens on the A7-IV as the main camera, but I have to mount it on a wall bracket to get it far away enough, the tripod simply doesn't give me enough space. I have some of those wall mounted arms for my lights, they are great. I have a simple smartphone autocue/mirror thing that works well. I need to do a lot of macro shots and stand-up demonstrations so I went for an electrically-elevating desk as a luxury option. It's great having presets and it allows for a radical scene change with very little effort. Good tip about the audio absorbing panels. I have books lining the walls of my existing audio recording space, but it has racks full of microwave radio testgear that I need to power off to remove the weird hums and fan noise, so moving to another room is a must. I watched your color-grading vid and that changed my perspective completely, so now I'll have to binge-watch everything else. Thanks for the time and effort you put into these vids.

Loved the detail you went into. As a KZbinr in a small room, I was excited to get some tips on space saving, especially when it comes to lighting. I'm intrigued - don't you get a problem with vignetting when using the padcaster and shooting at 35mm? That little aputure remote is so important - I hate trying to sync up to the app every time. Do you know if it works with other aputure lights like the MC, or B7C? I would love one hard remote (not phone) to control all my lights.
