This is great! I’m quite new to TF2 (installed around dec 2022) but I already love it, and I’m so happy that even if this game is 17 years old (older than me, yikes) there are still people so creative and dedicated that still make videos about it. I like this cover, it’s a good cover and it includes some of the highest highs I have had while playing (I got a triple kill with a random crit while soldier bombing just yesterday lol), but also the greatest issues (voice chat is not enabled on this account). Thank you HintShot, I am so grateful you made this!

The creator made a FAQ post about this video. The spy colour was something he had tried, but some of the factors that pushed them away from it were that under the blue light, it would look greyish, and he thought of the spy as being a good static element to the video with everything happening around him. His FAQ post itself is super cool. loved the extra info in it about the creation process.

this doesnt fit the original song's idea. you see, in the original song, instead of the human singer (Bo Burnham), there is a some kind of an entity that represenets The Internet. in the original song, the entity sings about itself to the viewer and then at the bridge sings about the viewer, in this part entity first introduces the false idea that it was always doing everything to please the viewer and put the world in the viewer's hand, but at the end of the bridge the entity starts maniacally laughing to then reveal that it never cared about the viewer and makes it clear that it was the one in control the whole time, shaping the viewer's insatiable dependancy on The Internet, winning its current position a long time ago before the viewer was even born. The Entity, or The Internet, was never by your side, and it already owned you before you could do anything about it. the lyrics you suggested just make it seem like the one singing is a TF2 fan telling TF2's story with bitterness, instead of an Entity, which removes the original song's idea entirely.
