This conversation between everyone and the message they want to push was really refreshing. Amazing to see the process behind the message that our athletes are pushing.
@StevenTorres2374 жыл бұрын
I would love for athletes to talk about US foreign policy, being in 7 wars, committing regime change, causing the problems in South America, seige warfare in Yemen, turning Libya into an slave state, occupying Afghanistan for almost 20 years, funding Saudi Arabia, trying to overthrow Maduro, stealing resources from Syria, in a shadow war in africa and tying that back to the what's going on right now. The police were militarized during the Obama era, we went from 2 wars with Bush to 7 with Obama and Trump continued it. The cages Trump put immigrants in were built during the Obama era and the federal agents that are rounding people up was a law passed in the Obama era. People need to educate themselves on the shit going on in not just in America. Obama allowed 5.1 million families to lose their houses after the 2008 crash, the military ran out of bombs to shoot during the Obama era, weed wasn't Legalized, he conned Flint residents but he still won a Nobel peace prize.
@manavbeniwal83004 жыл бұрын
Steven Torres yeah and I’d like athletes to donate 70% of their earnings to charity and their offseason to fighting crime lmaooo. U gotta chill bruh and realize that athletes are just as human as you and I, except with busier schedules for sure lol. People with platforms don’t have time to address every issue affecting the world, and while the ones u brought up are super impactful and may be on a whole even more impactful, you can’t expect your favorite athletes to speak on it just because it’s impactful. We as humans tend to care about the issues that affect us most, and as most athletes are African American, the disproportionate oppression of African Americans and their issues are front and center for these people. And for the first time in a long time, we are finally seeing whole teams unite behind any issue at all and try and make some change. Are they perfect? Absolutely not. But things are heading in a really good direction and we have to start somewhere, in due time I’m sure that athletes will begin to unite their platforms for even more global change. And finally don’t forget that these players do a lot more behind closed doors individually for a myriad of issues that surely include some of the ones you discussed as well. Just remember they r just people bro, who like to party and live it up a lot too haha, so instead of trying to find the negative about what issue they chose, be happy to see the discussion of any issue at all.
@StevenTorres2374 жыл бұрын
@@manavbeniwal8300 here my point in a nut shell, say, Joe Biden becomes president are the nba champs going to take a picture with him and visit the white House because he's not overtly bad. All I'm saying is it's easy to be awake because Trump is in office and is overtly bad. But are you (players, regular people) gonna go back to sleep for the status quo. Shit, I just relized I never mentioned standing rock, dapl, occupy wall street or the fact the BLM was created during the Obama era.
@riley.dentonn68844 жыл бұрын
The way Kyle O’Quinn talked was the most intelligent thing I’ve heard any athlete say for this whole situation. People have been using against a lot of the athletes about how they’re millionaires how can they be oppressed, but what Kyle said is so true. While he himself may not be oppressed, he has educated himself and wants to take the steps to help those that are instead of trying to say that he himself is. Nothing but respect for that statement and if somebody finds a way to hate on that, then you’re lost.

@@rb3411 You can't just let the players decide everything. It's corporate America and even if you don't like it, it exists for a reason. For example, some voices within the NBA Players Association wanted the back of their jerseys to say "Fuck Trump," which as much as Trump sucks, should not be condoned. The NBA is already doing a fantastic job of allowing their players a platform to spread their message and take further action, and so there's really not much to complain about. And even though I mentioned corporate America, that doesn't even really apply here tbh. This woman is the VP of Player Development, so it's not even that she's speaking on behalf of the 76ers, part of her job is literally to be a voice for the players/engage the players, which is exactly what she's doing.

It’s a beautiful thing to see how much you’re improving as a vloger. We see a very thoughtful young man approaching important things from a fun and light standpoint. Though I’m a Raptors fan, I still wish you and your team success and of course a safe time in the bubble.
