The CGI designs for Dora and gang look pretty great for the most part, but I will admit, the animation itself does look at bit slow and stiff in some areas, but that’s just me. Let’s see if the show itself will still capture the spirit and energy of the original show. That’s all that matters, really.

I'm a Nickelodeon kid so before I started to watch my favourite shows like SpongeBob, Penguins of Madagascar, Fairly Odd Parents) I've watched the nick jr. shows like Dora a lot. I'm worried the design changes, splitting the episodes in two, changing the animation from the prior footage to cheaper animation in the final animation, getting rid of funline animation to pipeline studios and cutting out some of the songs (maybe it's false information or real and they might add them in the second season) except for the new fiesta trio and mapa might give this reboot backlash compared to blue's clues and you. If it will get backlash, hopefully they'll return to older closer to the original cgi animation for last year and earlier this year and go back to 22 minute episodes and put back the songs I hope.

When I was a kid, we were really quite spoiled for animation. I like variety in animation, I think both 2D and CGI are good, but when everyone is defaulting to CGI, I miss 2D. I mean, if you look at Tangled and The Princess And The Frog, they were both beautifully animated movies, even though one was CGI and one was 2D. I think it's time for 2D to make a comeback though now!

Honestly? The CGI isn't the part that worries me. I think CGI Dora *could've* worked, but they didn't hit the mark on this one. However... It's a shame that the animation has to be as stiff as it is, especially when seeing what it could have been by looking at the short film. I know it's probably because they have a lower budget, but I feel like the budget should have been bigger from the start. Shows for children have the potential to look incredible, and there are a few that do. I feel like big corporations forget that the parents of the kids are probably going to end up watching a bit of the show too.

Despite the animation looking a little choppy and slow, I think the new designs are a great glow up from what we used to have growing up. I really wasn't a fan of Dora's hair in the OG show because it looked too wide to me. Her hair in the reboot however is much better and more realistic and also has some nice upgrades to it, like the pink band around it (I'm not a hairstylist, I just think some designs didn't look right to me. But it's a cartoon and for that, I'll let things slide). Adding on, I also like her model way more than the original design of her because its more expressive and looks like enough effort and time was put into animating her along with the rest of the characters, even though they move kinda slow. And as the entire show itself, I love how it has Video Game type visuals to it. It looks very polished and it looks like a huge step up from the OG Dora. Kinda looks like "If SEGA owned Dora The Explorer"

@@SAEshorts I mean, 19 years of playing together has probably been a load on them. I love them so much, I would literally watch Dora just see those little guys play their fanfare!! I sometimes wish they had more screen time in the past, maybe even get their own show. Bring them back!!

Like we're all gonna pretend that Dora was so energetic with movement. No... the characters would just freeze leaving for one movement at a time. Even with that said, this new one looks bad.

I used to watch Dora when I was young,along with Bubble Guppies and Team Umizoomiz. To be honest,the live action Dora is better than this version of Dora. Also Boots should be called Uggs and also my guy Swiper looks like one of the Hyenas from the Lion King. Also I am one of the Bubble Guppies fans at 0:33, that shit was hype back then.

When you posted the screenshot in your community tab, I thought the characters looked pretty good and has potential for fun expressive animation. The environments looked fun as well. Now that I've seen it animated, yeah the animation seems a bit off and not very expressive at all. Like it does make an attempt, but it feels very stiff with the models seemingly having more potential for more fun expressive animation than what was shown off. I have no problem with shows moving to 3D, but only if it's done right and made with respect, with inspiration from the 2D version. I feel 3D Dora does it in the style, models, and environment, but not the animation.

I’ve always wondered, is it cheaper or more profitable to reboot a show in cg or rerun the original. If the animation is very apparent of when it was made, like the Donky Kong Country cartoon for example, I can understand opting for a reboot when wanting to bring back an IP, but I don’t think Dora was in need of it.

0:59 Fun fact actually, Dora always had earrings, in the episode Dora had a little lamb when shes washing behind her ears and they’re uncovered by her hair you can see she wears earrings. You just can’t really see her ears because of her hair 😅
