A long running Canadian TV series, "The Beachcombers" was filmed in Gibson & Molly's Reach Cafe originated as a set for the show. It was a family friendly Sunday evening show that came on after Disney. You can fide episodes on KZbin

Salt Spring Island is a neat island to visit. You can catch it in Swartz Bay in Victoria. Walk only costs 10 bucks and there are busses that can take you to the nearest town center. I went last year and I find it an interesting place. I only stayed for a few hours. The ferry going back to the Vancouver island is for free.
