Was just there. What a great state to visit. Agree with all that was said except Jackson Hole. JH is a city cowboy town, VERY VERY VERY expensive. Both to eat and stay. Every local we spoke with said they only go there if they have to. Is it a nice looking town, yup. Scenic and busy. If you want to spend a ton of money you will have a good time. For us, Cody was the place we enjoyed most. Music, food and a great launching point for Montana, Yellowstone or many other places.

We are interested in WY- but honestly scared of the frigid winters. Living in the mid-Atlantic area- we have hot uncomfortable summers, short springtime, cold winters, and okay autumns. My concern would be what can we do to stay active during the long, cold winters? Hi Vince. Wyoming is very diverse in landscape with something for everyone. As far as how cold it is, it really depends on the year and what part of the state you plan to move to. The farther west and north you go, it tends to trend colder in November. With an average of six residents per square mile, I don't think you'll have to worry much about traffic. :)

Our Fearless leader led us from Michigan to Wyoming to hike in the Rockies one July long ago. Our crew of adventurers consisted of 11 I think but maybe 12 of unskilled M & F backpackers excited for a summer adventure.✌️ The actual effort of climbing in the high elevation proved very difficult. We all smoked back then- seventies. Although I wore hiking boots I still managed to get giant blisters! My first thought upon gazing at those majestic mountains was this....There really is a God! Summer in Wyoming is especially cool & the mountains are quite chilly, so it's good for blue jeans! We only had what we packed, two-man tents, sleeping bags, freeze dried food, clothes, but no Johnny Carson at 11 o'clock. We made campfires to cook & enjoy at night, found water by a stream with rapids, & barked at the moon each night in our ultimate freedom & exclusion. Someone saw a bear! Wildly fresh experience. But the really cool thing!? If you can believe, we met up with a very large group of kids like us from all around the USA...like Fla,Calf, Az. Wow cool. So while in town we hung out & partied at a place where the girl renting was facing charges of eviction due to the landlord wanting to cut off water claiming it condemned!? While in town we drank three bars dry on a Friday night! By midnight!? At one saloon there was a knock out fight just like in the movies! We had approx twenty five of us! We also attended her court hearing on Monday. In a one room courthouse! We packed it in & the judge ruled in our favor! Yahoo! She remained & the landlord turned the water back on!! We had a ball! We met real cowboys & to my surprise cowgirls too. Beautiful country. Like we'd often say, What a trip! Thanks Wyoming!!! ♥️♥️♥️ Keep on truck' n 🐎

That sounds like it was quite the memorable experience. I can proudly say that not much has changed. You will still meet people from all walks of life that are happy to see you along the way. (With an average population of six people per square mile, who wouldn't be happy to greet another person! ) This morning on my way into the office, I came upon a herd of Antelope grazing upon the prairie that spans along our office.
