The inspiration for this episode's Children's Fun Fact Science Corner was Alvin Lucier's classic experimental audio piece "I Am Sitting In A Room". I attempted to recreate Lucier's process as best I could, although I played the recording on speakers and re-miced it to create the layers, as Cecil was not physically in the room. Please include an audio warning at the start of this video. I have extra sensitive hearing, plus it's just after 8 a.m. now, and that loud, horrible whining sound at around 12:00 is just NO. I have neighbors who are going to be pissed at me for that. I shut it off as soon as I could, but not before everyone got a real earful. I'll never understand the media's insensitivity when it comes to these things. It happens elsewhere too, you're not the only ones. But anyway, a simple warning at the start of this episode would have let me know to skip it, since turning the volume down enough during that sound also means missing the start of the next segment where it's just talking again. The problem is that the audio mixer put too great of a decibal differential between the regular audio and the sound effects audio. That's not necessary and it's cruel. Please don't do that again. Thanks in advance.
