In regards to legal status, from the Church Newsroom: “Area Seventy Elder Broc Hiatt said one must see far beyond the political and recognize the core identity of another - especially of immigrants. “It doesn’t matter how they got here,” Elder Hiatt said. “Our concern is that they are children of Heavenly Father, and they need help. We can provide it, and we’ve covenanted to provide it. We are simply here to love Heavenly Father’s children and provide the help to them that He would provide if He was here.””

@@bettykunz3559 Jesus came from a Jewish line of decent that can be traced to southern European areas. Although he may have not been super white theres evidence to support he may have been white with a dark tan because of his time period. Not to mention if you are apart of the church then Joseph smith seeing God and Jesus as white men would support that theory aswell. I mean honestly though his color shouldn't matter no one should be offended if hes white or black we should just be thankful for what he did.

The heading says Immigrants does not specify. Christ doesn't think oh is this guy legal then I can help him. Oh his not legal I won't help him. Hey just maybe they are waiting on the courts and getting all there papers. So maybe they are not legal but are in the process of becoming. Or maybe they need to find some to marry so they can become legal. I doubt that the church is asking every single Immigrant if they are legal or not. Which I agree with 100%.

Christ did say "Obey, honor and sustain the law" or did he say that social justice warriors are exempt?

@@Normalcybias When it comes to immigration laws the in the past the church does not ask questions. The Church was sending missionaries to serve within the United States who were here illegal. Well, that just sounds sooo "social-justice-warriory!: As a Spanish major and a return missionary from a spanish-speaking mission, it's painful to see them brag about 700,000 Hispanics living in Las Vegas, yet not a word about insuring that their legal presence IS legal (yeah! Who cares about honoring and sustaining the law?). When they talk about providing legal services, you know that they're talking about using lawyers to get an illegal legalized (you didn't think that the lawyers were for getting a divorce, did you?). To those that say it doesn't matter whether they're legal or not, I have to say that's so not fair to us who immigrated legally! It wasn't easy for us neither, yet we choose to do things the right way, the lawful way, we wish to live in this country as permanent residents or citizens and we are willing to do it the right way no matter how hard it is. Why should a country welcome people who don't even respect its laws?

It's a very sad situation for everyone, are veterans are living on the streets, we have homeless every where in California. I pray 🙏🏻🙏🏽🙏🏾all Americans will also receive the care they need as well, because there is a lot of suffering going on in America at this time! 🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲 Covid is also returning to the states, with mass group's of people coming into the country. My ❤️💜❤️ heart goes out to the children, especially. But one thing that comes to mind is, Temple questions being asked, are we following the law of the land? People who cross the border are considered undocumented. But some people have a visa to travel, and at the time of entering, they are given a time of stay depending on the visa time they have. If they do not leave within the permitted time, they become undocumented. The undocumented cannot receive any kind of help from the government since they do not have a social security number. If they want to fix their situation, they can marry a citizen, ask for political asylum (within the year), or some countries with a program that grants them social security and a permit but must renewed every year, but it is not the residence card. Another way is that if they have a citizen sibling, they can petition for them, but the wait is 13 to 15 years. So, things are not as easy as it seems or as was for the first immigrants who came to this country.

They even pay into Medicare and Social Security which they'll never be able to actually collect unless they become naturalised citizens later in life. By any metric they work more and get less government help than native-born Americans.
