This ring had cracked through on the shoulder and I had soldered it so it was strong but had to neaten it at the worst parts of the break by welding. The metal is 14ct white gold and the PUK 3S was set to Gap 6ms 25% for the side and 4ms 20% for the fine middle section (the lowest setting on gap). I was welding where the solder was, which doesn't usually weld very well but this time I got lucky and didn't need to hammer drill it to remove any porosity. The repair was strong and tidy after filing/buffing and recutting the edges with a scorper.
