Do you guys have plans to make a video about laser welding in the future?
@shawnowens48185 жыл бұрын
Yes having the robot weld whatever peice you want is fun and games but the parts I have to make consist of 130" 1/2" round rod with 7 30" x 1/2" round rod (evenly spaced) each side of the rod gets welded twice we have a north and south program for each rod and every north and south side has 27 welds not including the 3 extra 130" rods you have to do by hand because our window for our robot is not wide enough, I am 19 and work along side my dad and make these all day the run time all together in including the T-clean program takes 36:52 without a wire stick. Remember each rod has a weld on each side 2 x 30 x 7 gives us 420 welds and each weld has a separate program each consisting of 13 movements and you can see where this gentleman is showing Bob what to do you have to hold in the bottom yellow lever and the SHIFT button in order to move anything on the robot, this makes you hand hurt after a while lol

I just got an interview at a tire and rim company to do this welding. Seems like a good job but lower on pay than a few other welding jobs. I just finished college and have no experience in this, but do have experience running machines.

So the sound of that an that gas this is a spray or globular transfer? Can we get a cut an etch? With as crowned up as that is doesn't seem like it was very good penetration.
@d8l8352 жыл бұрын
The mode he was using is called RapidArc. Its a lincoln specific waveform that is a cross between short arc and spray transfer with a pulse set up. The penetration is actually fantastic, travel speeds can be quite fast with little to no clean up and can be used out of position being that its a pulse mig set up in nature. Of course the settings could be dialed in a bit better, but that humming sound is the norm in RapidArc

Tips for welding MIG uphill? I can’t seem to get uphill. Every other position and stick uphill works great for me.
@niceguy3919875 жыл бұрын
Maybe you're running too hot.
@beefsupreme52915 жыл бұрын
try pushing uphill with greater angle. Make sure your burning deep into the plate and not just laying molten onto the surface. Hot and fast should be your travel and pushing as far in front of you with arc angle as possible without losing the arc shield and creating porosity. staying ahead of the puddle, but slow enough so it can build along almost catching you. keep your arc gap practically non-existent smothering out your arc while gouging up and letting the metal fill the burn-out. But I didn't tell you that. You have to learn it on your own doing it every possible wrong way first. So you know exactly how not to do it. More info would have helped. Like: metal type, which stick using, and joint type. but ya that is the basics. Do-it wrong every way possible first.
@beefsupreme52915 жыл бұрын
oopsy..... I miss interpreted your question. thought you needed help with stick. but it is going to be basically the same. except you'll have to fine adjust wire speed to smoother the arc into the weld like your trying to push thru the plate while maintaining that ear busting high pitched arc frequency. might want to up your gas pressure 7lbs if your not already wasting gas running it at max.

Tho i completely understand the concept and reasoning of a robots welding, great production stuff. I hate haveing converstaions with people who are throughly convinced robots will take all our jobs. In turn, i strongly dislike welding robots. What do you think?

*_@_* *_Swampy_* I thought you were going to say robots that go out and run for beer.
@georgesmirnoff97515 жыл бұрын
@Swampy its not a matter of good tradesman or more of them, as technology advances machines become more sophisticated, and cheaper then human labor increasing profits, we are teaching machines to learn by feeding them huge data bases, which reduces the need for programing. .More and more they are starting to build themselves robots building robots building driver less cars and trucks, etc... it's not just in manufacturing and production, we interface with robots every day, and all of them replaced the need for a human being because they are cheaper then employees... most dont look like "Roby the Robot" because they dont need to. Think of your ATM, self check outs at the grocery, think of Amazon: (Who doesn't shop at Amazon??) just about every step in that whole process is being automated from taking your order to building the box and shipping it out the door, for now they still need people in the process, and supervisors to push them to work harder and harder, but soon they will not be necessary there either, Amazon in single handedly eliminating the need for brick and mortar stores like Sears which are falling like Dominoes...soon a driver less UPS truck or drone will chuck it on your front porch... in another way Amazon is automating even your job, by automatic re ordering they are eliminating the customer from the process, a machine automatically re orders for you on a schedule while another machine lifts the payment out of your bank account... you could be dead and the shit would just pile up on your porch...it's all about reducing the cost of production to maximize profits, And if you think that the end result of this will be a comfortable life for all humans with lots of leisure time to raise your family, play and travel... well... think again, when people are no longer needed, they are simply a burden, a cost to be eliminated because, well, they serve no purpose and are no longer needed... Look in our own country, look at the rust belt where manufacturing once ruled the day but has now been virtually eliminated , shipped overseas , Why? because labor is cheaper there... What happens to the people left behind? a life of leisure? hardly! what's left are disposable throw away human beings, broken lives and families, epidemic levels of addiction and suicide, desperate people committing desperate acts just to survive are incarcerated and warehoused by for profit corporations financed by your tax dollars... the end result is already here now, all we need to do is look around to see what happens...

wait until AI will be integrated with robotic arms ... that will be fun to watch , no need for complex X,Y,Z programming
@Matias-nr6rm5 жыл бұрын
All robots can do is super repetitive stuff forever, like building the same piece every day non stop until they make 48000 of them, so if every job you do is different from the previous, or if the quantity is small enough so is not worth renting a robot, a place, and paying someone to program it, then you should be ok right?
@codyrockwood152 жыл бұрын
The plants using these robots usually only rub 2-3 different parts with these robots. It's only beneficial to have them if you're doing the same thing everyday.

pretty interesting, robotic welders are only be as good as guy programming them, basically being foreman to a machine, but it's here, looks complaining to learn , an what is right hand rule lol don't let the left hand catch ya lol take care thanks for sharing
@d8l8352 жыл бұрын
Lol im a little late...but heres your answer. The "right hand rule" refers to the xyz directions of the robot. If you place your right hand out, thumb up, index pointing out, and middle finger pointing to your left, that is the rule. Your thumb represents the z axis, index is y, middle x. You can always change this to something different with a new frame, but its more of a rule of thumb. Also depends on the coordination type your using too.

@niceguy3919875 жыл бұрын
That's nonsense. Someone has to programm the robots, someone has to maintain them. Also, would you like to weld the exact same part over and over again, every day?

Robots are needed if we want to compete with China and India.
@niceguy3919875 жыл бұрын
@Swampy there's still enough jobs that humans can or have to do, rather than a robot. You wouldn't wanna take a robot and programm it for one single job or Part. That's where human workforce is still the better way to go for. But there's also a lot of things that robots can do way better than any human, especially repetitive Work steps. On the other hand we should be glad, that colleges teach the knowledge to operate and programm these robots. Worklife is changing and we have to adopt to new technologies.
