You've hit the nail on the head with describing the Australian music industry. Our singers/bands have mostly come up from playing in pubs etc. No computers, no voice modulators.... Australians are very aware of those things and don't accept it. If you can't sing live... with just a guitar when required.... you don't make it in Australia. If you can't tell a commercial, global music management company who wants to control you and your music, to fuck off.... you don't survive in Australia. If you want to act like a Diva in Australia... you'll be booed off the stage. We are here for music..... not your big ego. It's why we love Pink.... she got the concept of Aussie music early on..... it's why other global artists don't come here, because they know we won't put up with bullshit...... Music is part of Australias core.....but it's got to be music..... not commercialised dross.....

For a look at a great female vocalist, have a squizz at Vanessa Amorosi doing Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman”. Thank you for your elegant reaction! This song is a Sam and Dave cover, originally released in 1966. Jimmy Barnes performed this song before in 1982, in Germany at Rockapalast with his band, Cold Chisel. Then this collaboration with John Farnham in the 1990s. Chisel has two very good singers, Jimmy Barnes, who is my favourite singer, ever ❤, and Ian Moss, who is their lead guitarist 🎸 In their version, Jimmy sings the higher part. JImmy and John are very legendary in Australia. We know how lucky we are ❤ PS Don't forget Diesel, who was on the guitar and harmonised at the end. He is also a star 🌟

Top tier performance. Brilliant reaction. ❤ I remember watching a "meet John Farnham" event and his wife Jill talks about how they bought John a welder for his birthday one year and she dragged out an ugly candelabra he had made her and she had to pretend she loved it. So funny.

There are so many brilliant songs of John Farnham's to react to: too many to suggest here, but, always listen to him live (as you have here - such an added dimension to 'just' his voice; he gives 110% every time, and has fun doing it. John aka The GOAT. John & Jimmy have a huge respect for each other's talent. These two epic voices will keep you enthralled for weeks, if not months. BTW we in Aus call John THE VOICE. That leads to another performance you should react to: You're the Voice with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. One of many from that concert. PS John used to blow up many microphones in his early days, not to mention destroying mic stands with his 'acrobatics' you can't be distracted for a minute with John, you might miss some tricks! Kudos to Diesel, his guitar solo is amazing, wonderful harmonies add to the performance.

What you lack in words (because English is not your first language) you make up for in insightful expression. You have experienced our top singers here who have l-o-n-g musical careers. I love it when John 'raises it to the roof' in this song with his masculine angelic vocals. Jimmy's voice is soul-sounding and they pair wonderfully together. I love the a cappela singing at the very end. Jimmy was the lead co-singer in a famous Aussie band named Cold Chisel. They disbanded years ago but are getting together for a 50 year anniversary reunion tour this year. There is plenty more to come from both singers. The third singer-guitarist is Diesel who also had a band and a good singing career. For its fairly small population, Australia has produced a big number of wonderful singers and musicians. What country are you from ?

John has the voice they say "to sing the phonebook", that's how great his voice is; he can sing anything from pop to rock to musical theatre to opera. John's version of The Beatles classic song Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is a step above, him singing Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar the musical is magnificent; his duet with Olivia Newton John singing Please Don't Ask Me from The Main Event Concert is beautiful theatre, and his duet with Anthony Warlow(Australia's Phantom) singing a comical version of Grenada. Enjoy this rabbit-hole of a journey.

I’ve just subscribed to you as I really liked your reaction to this wonderful performance. (You also have one of the most pleasant accents I’ve heard for a long time! 😊) I have a recommendation for you to watch Bobby Caldwell’s live performance of “What Love Will Make You Do”. It had a similar effect on me as this had on you when I heard it for the first time only a week ago. It’s at least as old as this video of Jimmy and John. I consider it to be one of the most well-crafted compositions ever. Bobby wrote it and played most of the instruments when he recorded it. Sadly, he passed only a year ago. When John Farnham is ready to return to public life I’d love to hear him sing this song. Best wishes for a long and happy experience as a YT reactor!

No reason to apologize for occasionally having to search for the right words. I would venture a guess that most of your audience is similar to myself. I only speak my native language fluently and really only know basic structure and some key phrases in other languages. While I can engage in limited conversations in those languages, I struggle often enough with recalling a phrase I haven't used in years, I would certainly struggle with trying to communicate something as complex as a musical analysis. On the other hand, I had no difficulty in understanding exactly what you were communicating at all times.
