Hi James + Max, done a good job on those old gates, don't listen to people saying don't weld galvanised steel , do what you want and weld what you want, it your farm. I agree with you on the glove thing, there a time to wear glove and a time not to but saying that gloves can get in the way, like using an electric drill. And another thing that subscriber saying no Max or Molly I agree with you he can do one, you don't need subs like that, this channel is family based and that in clued every one including Wally the dog, saying that have Max on some your Machinery Nation channel he might teach Josh a thing or two. You don need negative people, I like the way you do stuff on this channel and the way you teach Max how to do jobs is great the sooner the better by the time he is 16 Max will turn his hand to any thing and that is some thing to be proud off, keep up the great work. As always a great video catch you soon Take care

KEEP MAX! Gloves where needed up to the individual to decide (or their supervisor) Can be more dangerous using rotating tools with certain gloves than without. Im sure as Max's dad you do your best to look after him with PPE when reqd etc etc but you need an element of actually doing things (potentially dangerous) too.... something Max definitely seems to enjoy.

Generally gloves with machine tools are a no-no because they can get caught. I tend to wear thin gloves that can rip easily just to keep the grease off my hands but some would say that's a no too. But big fan in other scenarios, I only have a working left thumb because of a glove. For your trousers' sake I hope you've cut the tips off the screws nice and tight :)
