I have had my YesWelder Helmet for a year now and love it. The view is absolutely amazing compared to my older Hobart Helmet. That being said, my passive large screen Hobart is fantastic as a student helmet.

Yeswelder helmet works good. First time welder here, educated by youtube videos only, and I've successfully welded a cherry bomb resonator on my exhaust with Yeswelder's helmet. Gets the job done no complaints

Good comparision wih actual examples which I missed in several other videos before this. I'm about to get into stick welding with my grandpas welder, that is still in the box and seems to never have been used 😂😋 Thanks for the video! ❤

Bro, the mask with the handle is for the wife when you call her out to the garage to show her how you lay that bead that she doesn’t care about.

I'm new to welding. So far I've only tried flux core on thin tubing, 16 and 18 gauge. With my HF helmet just like the one in this video, set at the lowest setting 9, the view is way to dark. I can only see the arc. In three weeks of trying I have never been able to see a weld puddle or the work piece. I even use a bright LED flashlight focused right in my target area. I might as well close my eyes while welding. I have the welder set at 14.5 volts or lower and 3.7 amps or lower. I'm thinking I need a DIN setting lower than 9. That might mean I need to buy yet another, more expensive, welding helmet that has settings 5-8 DIN. At these settings isn't the arc supposed to be bright enough to illuminate more than the tip of the wire? What do experienced welders use when welding thin sheet metal with the voltage and amperage turned down low. My welder is a Vevor MIG-270 3 In 1 Mig Welder 110v 220v.

Yep, if you want to go that low you'll need a different shade, probably around 7-8. Pros that do it all day long have the thousand + dollar helmets.

@@-DIYPRO- I bought a new helmet today, the HF Titanium, that has settings from 5-9 and 9-13. Huge difference compared to my other new HF Chicago Electric helmet that only covers DIN 9-13. In fact there is literally a night and day difference between welding at DIN 8 vs DIN 9. The Titanium has a larger brighter viewing lens than the CE helmet. I made a few welds at 8. Wow, I can see everything, and actually run a bead.! Now, I can follow up on tips that I see in KZbin videos. They told me I can bring the other one back for a refund since it has been far less than 90 days.

Fixed lenz are more reliable for out welding like pipeline or structure welding. Actually you can change fixed lenz with auto darkening too.

I bought a cheaper but still 1/1/1/1 YesWelder helmet and it didn't do it for me. The viewing area was large and the color was true, but it was a bit dark and would flash me for a brief instant every time I struck an arc. Even on the lowest sensitivity setting it would constantly mistake the light for an arc and darken when it shouldn't. It became unbearable for me so I picked up a Titanium 7 inch from Harbor Freight... Much smaller viewing area and more yellow, but I find everything is brighter/clearer, the helmet darkens on time, and even on the highest sensitivity it very rarely darkens when I don't want it to. On the contrary the YesWelder had a way more comfortable headband. I wish Harbor Freight made a Vulcan with digital buttons only... I'm skeptical of the analog buttons because they look very easy to be accidentally adjusted by a pancake respirator. I would love to know if any of these models fit any of the PAPR headgear systems you can buy... It would save a lot of money to be able to DIY your own PAPR system on a budget helmet.

My lens is plastic not glass will spatter stick and melt to it??

The lens itself is plastic? Most of the time they'll have a little plastic cover, which is meant to be replaceable because, yes, it will get spatter on it.
