Welding Turntable Part 9 - Final Video

In this video Rob will embark on creating a welding turn table from things found lying around his garage and around the Longevity shop. In part one he will plasma cut rim to create a base for the turning mechanism. Also Rob will go over the theory of the creation of the welding turntable and how it will work. For a turntable I think sprockets and a chain are overkill. Pulleys and a belt would probably work great. Thank you for the excellent tutorials!

You still have room for a bigger sprocket under the work surface. Then go for an intermediate gear. You could go to a belt system to. Doug

add a jack shaft. two more gears its and easy way for reduction

Is there any way to get help from Longevity, I have a 256IP that worked great on arc welding but the first time I used it for plasma cutting it stopped working completely, I called and emailed tech support 4 times with no feedback, I told them I will pay to get it fixed but they did not reply. I wish I never got this welded. I was doing my car and now I am at a stand still.

Not sure why he described all the details of a nonfunctional turntable. Why the hell not just put a small wheel on the drive end and have it contact OD of turntable.....?

i'm sorry, but this was a complete waste of your time ..I think if you had spent those hrs doing some research,you would have been able to make something that works..I understand budget limits.. that was not the fail point, IMO.
