Good metal works...quick thinking....would it be nicer, paint welded spots, to prevent rust. Weld cross angle bar to strengthen structure a bit...little stinless steel chain 500 kg to weld or hook with stainless u bolt, in future need to shift places easier...one tractor... Dad is wise....boom works for hoisting😁😁😁
@shutterbugg52175 жыл бұрын
Consider getting a tank of 100% CO2. It's generally cheaper and burns hotter. But for these windy situations, just get some good flux core wire and you won't need any gas.
@collingronseth7645 жыл бұрын
Hey... so when you flip them over I’d suggest tying a locking chain loosely to The frame of your forks to the bottom of the frame of your Windbreaks to prevent them from turning over that violently. You can also get some pallet fork extensions that won’t allow the panel to go all the way over too. Also if you leave them in all year your center of gravity will be altered and I when the wind is flexing the panel, that might be added weight to start bending the panel or alter its performance as a Windbreak! Remember you are heavily mechanically advantaged up there so 50 lbs gets to be a lot of weight.
@SonneFarms5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the information, I actually talked to my dad about pallet fork extensions a couple days ago, I think that is a good idea.

If you are welding steel mostly you can save a lot of money by using a 75/25 mixture of argon and co2. readily available at your elding supply, gives better penetration, and works better on what I call junk iron.

Also, do you plan to rotate these for winter and deploy them again as wind brakes? If so, will you remove the added leg structure to take the extra weight off the top when they become wind brakes again? Or will you just use these as shelter devices now going forward...for driving rain, sleet, snow, hail etc...
@SonneFarms5 жыл бұрын
When it starts getting cooler outside we will tip them back over to protect from wind, not sure if we will take the legs off though
@bobcrone61515 жыл бұрын
You’re gonna wish you did. If I had to guess, when you re-deploy these as wind breaks, the added weight up top is gonna move the CG (center of gravity) on the structure so high that 70 mph gusts are gonna thrash those things to unrecognizable scrap piles. Think about it :) Not trying to be hyper-critical here. Just wanted to point that out...

The pens have like half-a-meter of gooo/mud in them, doesnt seem to bother either you or the animals, but in Sweden that would be illegal, and "animalcruelty" of sorts. I'm not yelling at ya, just comparing animal-health in the us and sweden. Here in sweden they have much concern for the feet (hoofs?), dont know the correct word in english though? Great video non the less!

Your name actually means the Sun, from middle German sonne also sunne meaning sun. Either a habitational name for someone living at a house distinguished by the sign of the Sun or from a field name. Jewish askenazi. In 1940 people with the name s o n n e, farmers for men was popular and school teachers for women. That's pretty kool Cole. You can tell I'm a history buff. Talk to you later man. If you like you can look up the name Perez
