I love the farm channels where the farmers still have livestock. I used to farm, and, fed some calves every year. I used a head gate to work them. I always felt kinda sorry for those little calves for the first day or two, they seemed to bawl all night the first night.

Cole you are a cool young dude making good videos of your farming life, can't help but notice you seem very timid around cattle, have you ever been stomped or are you being just too cautious? Cattle can tell if someone is afraid and won't stand their ground and usually that's the person they will go for, time and time again it's like putting a target on your back. You need to make yourself bigger in the cow's mind, especially doing yard work, or you may well end up on the deck one day with all the stockwork you have to do.

Why are you using a cattle shocker as they are so painful for the cows
@SonneFarms4 жыл бұрын
I rarely use it, as you can see in the video most of time I don't even touch them with it, and for it to actually shock I have to push a button. In some cases the cow or calf wont move forward and without the prod it is hard to get them moving. I want you, and everyone else to know how much I care about the animals and I am never happy to use the prod, and I use it as little as possible. I personally have been shocked by the prod a number of times and I can say from experience that it is not something I want to be on the business end of, but it isn't that painful, especially for bigger animals like cattle.

They say animals sense fear , you seem to be afraid of the cattle . Did you get smashed by the cattle in the past ? Just an observation , thats one of the reasons I stopped working on farms with animals , they will mess you up , sometimes permanently , I know first hand !!!!!
@SonneFarms4 жыл бұрын
When I watched the video I was surprised to see how uncomfortable I looked. I wouldn't say I am scared of them but I do respect them. Plus when we have that many critters in the small pen a like to keep a little distance so I don't scare them and push them to jump over or try to crawl under the fence
