Most importantly, the kid is ok aside from a few bumps and bruises! Unfortunately he learned a hard lesson about driving in two wheel drive on the ice. If you have 4wd and the roads are slick, USE IT!!!
Be sure to check out our Patreon project where we use whatever it brings in in a month as our budget to help someone the following month! I was never a fan of the Patreon idea until I realized that I can use it to help others instead of myself, so I created the Patreon Project where we can all combine our efforts to make a real difference in people's lives and make the world a better place! For as little as a dollar a month you can join the group of awesome people already on board and be vote to help steer the ship along the way!

IMO giving a young fella a hand out doesn't allow them to appreciate the work needed to do for themselves. Learning is best from our mistakes. When I was young I asked my dad for help and he said no, a few years later I called him back and told him thank you for not helping me because I learned to work extra hard for what I needed. I continued this hard work ethic all of my life and retired at the age of 42. In the 33 actual years I worked, it was more like 66 working years due to working either 2 full time jobs, or 1 job & 80+ hours a week. The exception was when I put myself through college, I worked 50 hours a week at night. There were struggles, but the payoff was more satisfying because I did it all on my own. Our Lord helps those who help themselves. If you feel the need to help, this is commendable and much respect to you.

Funnest part of recovery is showing up and saying to a trooper "Hey, You can open everything up because I'm gonna go down there and pull it straight out.." Sometimes trooper: "Well why didn't the other 3 see that possibility?" - "Sorry sir - I can't speak to their abilities...."

Casey, It’s very cool that you rescued the truck driver and his pup, those big trucking company dispatchers are no help at all for their drivers, they throw their drivers under the bus in a heartbeat I think if the dispatchers would ever have to face the drivers face to face we would see a whole different story. The tow hook up from the Dodge trucks wheel lift to the Tacomas trailer hitch was really cool, I have never seen that before?

My first accident was when I was 16, had my license for about 3 months and was in Dads “extra” car (aka my car), a ‘74 Chevy Vega. A “just out of jail” ex-con ran a red light and t-boned me in the intersection. Fortunately nobody hurt and the car was repairable, unfortunately it was a hit and run but the ex-con was well known to the cops and they found him pretty quick. At least the car had insurance and fixed mine.

I have never seen a towing truck hook up a motor vehicle that way to tow one. I guess there are many ways to hook em up? I learn something new usually when I watch your channel. Glad you were able to help this young man out. When the weather conditions are like they are during this taping I tend to not drive on the roads. My little bumper bender almost 35 years ago still sticks out in my mind and I was an over 30 something driver then. I know these conditions are common in your neck of the woods. We do get snow and more often ice which is nastier to drive in. Just not worth it for me!

I hit a buck/deer with my Toyota and figured it could be repaired. The front fender was touching the door on the driver's side. The insurance totalled the truck. When the fender touches the door the frame has collapsed and it's totaled. It wasn't that bad but the Toyota has a section of frame that collapses in a front end collision. Now I could have selected to buy it back and did the repairs but I would have had a salvage title. I elected to let it be totalled and took the money and bought a new one.

I used to have people four or five times a day call the shop to get a price to fix their transmission. I would recognize the phone number, and just ask them. What is your billing information? They would ask me why, and I would tell them because if you’re going to continue wasting my time, I’m going to bill you for it. It would stop them from calling.

Given the tendency of 16 year old males to be a danger to themselves and others when behind the wheel, I cannot understand how and why one can be in charge of a V8 truck. Here in the UK one cannot begin to learn to drive until the age of 17. A pretty severe test has to be passed in order to drive unsupervised and then there is no way on earth that a young driver would be able to insure a large, powerful truck.

Our testing here in Canada is a complete joke. A lot of people just pay the examiner to get their license. Also in our graduated licensing programme, police are way too soft on learning drivers.
