If you hear animals while you're inside the house, they're inside as well. Most animals use attics as shelter. They prefer foraging outside of the home for preferred food source. Every house has multiple points of entry for animals to get in. The sheetrock that is your ceiling amplifies the sounds of animals. For a mouse you may hear very little, if it sounds like there's a fully grown adult up there, that's most likely a raccoon. Easiest way to tell is to access the attic or crawl space and look for holes in the insulation and droppings. If you suspect squirrels, look for pine cone husks. Just a little helpful advice from a licensed pest control technician LOL Growing up in the 80s, we had an air raid siren in our neighborhood they would test once a week. Houston doesn't get many tornados but we sure get hurricanes once a decade and lots of flooding.

10:42 tungsten is about the same density as gold. It is quite heavy. Yes it is very hard also, but the hardness makes it susceptible to shattering from sudden impacts, just like other hard materials including diamond, but dropping tungston on the floor is much more likely to result in shattering it compared to diamond purely because it weighs so much for its size, so the impact has more kinetic energy.

The house I grew up in had a Walnut tree in the yard. The squirrels lived in our walls, and when the landlord brought an exterminator they found the squirrels had replaced all the insulation in the house with walnut shells. They removed a wall in one of the bedrooms and the ENTIRE wall was packed solid with walnut shells. Squirrels are nuts. 🐿🐿🐿

They warned me it might give me nightmares, but I said I’d be okay. So we popped out the fold-out couch and watched it that night. Sure enough, when I fell asleep, I had a nightmare a tornado hit us and we got sucked into it, I woke up screaming and crying, and to this day anytime we have a tornado watch I become a nervous wreck. When we get warnings, by the time it passes I end up drenched in sweat. Despite all that, watching the movie now, I honest to God love it so much, it is one of my favorite films of all time.

I live in MO, so not quite Tornado Alley, but we're no strangers to tornado sirens. You can expect at least one each year, pretty much. However, there's this weird misconception that everyone's constantly getting hit when tornados drop. Not really. There's enough "empty" areas around that most tornados really don't do much of anything to anything of value. Hell, it's completely normal to be standing outside with the neighbors while the sirens are going off, just very casually talking and wondering if anyone can see anything (usually can't). I've talk to neighbors at home and the office far more because of storm sirens and standing around than actually seeking to talk to them.

Tornado sirens are terrifying. Sometimes they go off in the Denver area. One almost touched down about 6 years ago in Lakewood, which borders Denver. We also have the tests, but thankfully now there is someone speaking over the siren saying it is a test and also it updates us if it is a tornado on where it is and where to go. Weird hearing that in public and very eerie.

Your marketing story about "sales" is so correct... I' sure you've heard the old grocery store story, xyz grocery was selling some produce for a quarter. They had very mediocre sales numbers, nothing spectacular but they would sell... then someone changed the sign to "4 for a dollar".... sales took WAY off.. they couldn't order enough to keep up.... Marketing is all psychological. If you make the person think they are "getting one over on the man" they will not only buy more but think they "got you" in the process.

Tungsten will never break never like this. It is a pure metal but much harder to machine compared to stainless steel, has a much heavier density and is incredibly though, actually almost indestructible. It also withstand hot temperature much better than steel. We used little tungsten square blocks i.e. to align the electric beam patterns and energy settings for high vacuum electric beam evaporators to coat optical lenses. When dropped, even after being exposed multiple times to glowing temperatures these blocks never shattered. Which is why it tungsten so preferred for airplane turbine components and rocket engine parts. Peace! from Dresden / Germany

I'm originally from Oklahoma, smack dab in the middle of Tornado Alley. It is true that you kinda become desensitized to tornados after being in them a few times. I grew up with tornado drills in school where they would set off the school alarm and we would all line up and quickly, yet quietly along the lockers where we would kneel/crouch down with our arms and hands covering the back of the neck and head. It was all fun and games until the real sirens would go off! I remember one specific time when we were at our families house in the country. Right around the time we went to bed a warning went off, my whole family just went on to bed. My uncle and I stayed up to watch it. (The cylindrical tube that you asked about is indeed a tornado forming.) It grew to a level 3 and it looked like it was coming right towards us. As soon as it got to it's largest size my uncle and I kinda look at each other and say, "Alright, time for bed, goodnight" and went to our respective rooms. The next morning when we went out to access the damage the old Oak tree that stood out back and had our tire swing on it, had it's largest limb wrapped around the tree itself! The branch didn't break, it just wrapped around the tree. The tire was a loss. We got so lucky that it was just a brief touch down as it skipped across the prairie. Lol. Great times!

My city-slicking ass didn't even know what the sirens sounded like (the university never tests their nuclear reactor's sirens, if they even have externally audible ones). It was a ROLLERCOASTER - that intense mortal dread that freezes time and fast-tracks everything in your gut directly to your colon, followed by feeling like the luckiest dumbass on the planet when a stranger notices you've turned white as a ghost and has the heart to tell you they do this every Wednesday.

Yeah we don't really get Tornados often in MASS. Though every time there is a possibility people go crazy.

We got one when I was in high school and it hit an animal shelter on the way through so the whole town was out searching for little critters early the next morning. 🥺

I've live in north tx [tornado alley] most of my life . It's scary lol 2010 I was locked in my hs while a tornado tore down all the neighborhoods surrounding it , cars in the parking lot in the trees, everything. I'm 28 now with my own home that I was forced into basically, hate it here lmao.

Hey Leon, I just wanted to say that it's tornado alley and not valley. Also twister is one of my favorite books and movies because it has to do with my home state of Nebraska. Much love from the Midwest. You and your beautiful wife are of the few entertaining people from the east coast. Keep up the amazing work.

We got hit by a tornado on January 26th of this year. Es no bueno. Luckily, everyone in my community survived. Neighbors houses completely removed from the foundations and scattered a few hundred yards away. I had severe damage, but was able to rebuild. Lost a beautiful ‘66 Ford to a massive oak tree that crushed it. Let’s just say, I respect Mother Nature a lot more than I used to because I’ve seen first hand the tragedy she brings with her.

One morning… it hadn’t even hit 8:00 yet my daughter spilled her entire cup of apple juice all over the dining table, table cloth… floor and as I was cleaning that up I moved her to the counter where she then knocked over my freshly made coffee THAT I DIDNT EVEN SIP OUT OF YET!! And it dripped into the cabinets, on the kitchen mat EVERYWHERE 😞 it was a sad sad day

You meet some of the best people on their porches during tornado sirens. Everyone outside verifying if meteorologist has it right. Lol. Seriously though is been getting too close for comfort in my neighborhood putting in storm safe room before spring. In this month alone I believe we've had a ten go thru

15:35 Spider friend! (Also cough... Ms. Lush as ilustrusrious as she may be, has a heart as black as coal when she cant empathize with anything unless it has the DNA of a human being)... This is just an ornate orb weaving spider. Common in the Northeast US. Will not harm you even if bitten, very unlikely, unless you have a particular allergy similar to bee stings. Otherwise they are great pest control! They eat all they flies, moths, mosquitoes and many other flying insects you would rather not encounter instead.. RESPECC DA SPOOD YA FOOLS!!!!

As someone who lives in tornado Valley, they're still not too common and these days these usually plenty of warning from the news radar.
