Still a productive night, despite the sad start of it all. Great stuff...looking forward to some crotalus.

Curious, about how many miles are you covering when road cruising?
@wakefieldwildlife3 жыл бұрын
Totally depends on the evening, where I am, if I'm stopping to do hiking, etc. And I honestly haven't added it up, but I'm sure it's a lot!

Many of your viewers are likely much more knowledgeable than I and to stop and to explain regional differences every time you pick up a snake, toad, etc would most definitely negatively effect the flow of your videos but I sure do appreciate when you do take the time to do that for us. Thank you.

I'd rather spend some time educating and talking about what I like than worry about what is going to affect the masses. I'm glad you're enjoying them!

Sadly we have these moments where we find a crushing roadkill.

Dang that snake was a beautiful thing I just made a vid on my yt channel I found a dead scaleless red sided garter on the road it sucks that people go out of there way to run over snakes

nice video, but you did something wrong. If you see a snake trying to cross the road, help it out by placing it where it was heading, otherwise it will just try and cross the road again, potentially getting killed. Remember that next time!

I didn’t see any devastation in this video. Sadly snakes die on the road all the time. It was too small also to be easily detected even if the driver didn’t want to hit it on purpose. Also, still I cannot understand how can a snake eat a crayfish.

Devastating was hyperbole. But seriously, when you spend so much time looking for a hard to find species, it is definitely disappointing to find it killed on the road right before you got to it. Also, crayfish eating snakes usually only eat freshly molted crayfish when their skin is more soft and pliable.
