On a tangential note, it's extremely annoying to see AI bros be like "the future will inevitably be X, Y, and Z, and this is 100% certain and only a matter of time" when they really mean "this is a stupid idea I had last night while high lmao". They really really love taking some DMT or whatever, imagining the stupidest fucking scenario they can, and then deciding that that is completely inevitable and the future can not in any way deviate from this.

24:00 Per BBC News: Vida, the white horse soaked in blood, was injured after hitting (being hit by?) a double-decker bus. Vida "continues to make progress 'under close and careful' veterinary observation as his wounds heal." Supposedly they were spooked by the sound of falling rubble at a construction site. So here's a funny story about a psychiatric evaluation: I have a friend who is schizophrenic so she had to go to the psychiatrist for her regular appointment. One of the questions he asked was, "Do you hear voices that aren't there?" So she answered, "If I hear them, how would I be able to tell that they're not there?" lol
@danielled8665
@danielled8665 3 ай бұрын
Those evaluations are always so beside the point. The adhd ones are awful too. Because like, my symptoms are all "Yes, but actually no, the complete opposite." "I can't concentrate. But also I hyperfocus on one thing and forget to eat or sleep. I get so low energy and drained I can't move or do anything for a whole day, or I dash from one interest or activity to another like a crazed housekeeper. I can't clean a thing, or I can to to bottom scour and organize the entire house. I can't learn about a subject, or I can become an expert overnight. And no, it's not bipolar, because these wild occelations can happen over the course of a few hours, or even minutes. 😂" "Do you ever want to hurt someone?" "Well yeah, I work retail, and also have driven a car, and also been on the internet. Some people are idiots and frustrating and it would be weird if I didn't. But I'm not antisocial personality disorder, I'm just angry."

This is the serious answer not the funny answer, but I have had episodes of hearing voices that are not there, and it's a distinct thing from hearing voices that you think are there. It's like you know they aren't real but you hear them anyway, sometimes inside your head instead of through your ears. However to get around the other situation, often they'll ask if you hear or see things that other people don't seem to rather than things that aren't there.
@danielled8665
@danielled8665 3 ай бұрын
@elelem358 there's an issue with that though; people with autism often "hear things other people dont", like they complain of hearing electricity in the cables or small tapping or the sound of fabric rubbing together, and then end up misdiagnosed because while it's true, it wasn't what the question meant.

Visiting Hog-scientist here, (admittedly life sciences but I do have a pharmacology background) tripropylene is an oligomer of propene that's popular along with it's isomers for adding alkyl groups to things. It's almost entirely a chemical intermediate that goes on to just about any type of chemical manufacturing where you need carbon groups. Not really exciting but it's probably chosen as propene monomer likely has greater shipping concerns.

From what I've read on it, burning this stuff is terrible. Toxic, irritating, corrosive fumes, and the vapors can asphyxiate people. Oh and the liquid version of the stuff floats on water, and the fumes sink below normal air. Oh and the flash point was only 75 degrees F which means it can catch on fire basically damn near at room temp with an ignition source.

For a split second, I though the title read, "Howard Stern Tunnel Fire," which made me wonder if Baba Booey was gonna be blamed for screwing things up yet again, leading to Stern berating him on air for an hour and a half before interviewing Beetlejuice and Hi-Pitch Erik. 3:46 I agree with this sentiment, as do all fans of the #1 bird-named NFL team, the Seattle Seahawks.

0:00 - 2 Baltimore Episodes! 0:01 - Oh no, I know where this is. 2:58 - Fuck you - we're not in Baltimore County. And we're the Greatest City in America. 3:55 - NGL. This is true. Cardinals are better. 27:29 - There is a monument to this battle at the corner of Baltimore St and Pulaski. 30:41 - First fight in Baltimore during the Civil War happened along this stretch when a bunch of traitors attacked Union Soldiers making the same trip. This resulted in Lincoln dispatching cannons to Federal Hill and pointing them at downtown. It also started a series of events that got the Maryland governor imprisoned. 34:42 - Chesapeake Fries! 36:15 - If the Engineering Disaster isn't that we got a surface light rail along this instead of metro like we deserve, you guys missed. 39:02 - Oh hell no. That's scary. 56:45 - Hey, hey, hey... hey... hey 1:01:08 - He's not the children's book mayor. 1:07:20 - Insane BCFD. More of this, less opposing bike lanes. 1:15:08 - And we have never recovered that old time speed 1:19:40 - Mayor Pete - I demand a cog railway on the Key Bridge replacement. 1:21:05 - I don't like that game. 1:28:25 - Yeah. I've done enough work on vehicles to know "simple" means it takes forever.

My guess is that this chemical is a good reactant for various chemical processes because the double bond makes it reactive in a variety of organic chemistry reactions. That would explain why it was hard to find just a few things it's used for as it is probably a pretty common reactant.

i have a conspiracy theory that the trains keep derailing BECAUSE theyre too long, its like running a toy train through a curve and up a hill and all the sudden the friction of the back half of the train is fighting the pulling force at the front and the lightest middle car nopes right out. the cars are fine, the rails are fine, but the train as a whole is experiencing forces its not designed for

That's not too bad. Kinda small state anyway. But down in the south in the town I grew up in, there's like four neighborhoods with the name Plantation being part of the name. Plantation Drive, Plantation Way, Plantation Place, Lost Plantation, Plantation Circle... Feel like I'm missing one 🤔
@MichaelUrocyon
@MichaelUrocyon 3 ай бұрын
My problems with equestrianizing our neighborhoods are: 1) the stink that would be produced by every city block having multiple stables. 2) they need food daily even if you don't use them, I don't want to be responsible for that. My solution is twofold: 1) teach the horses to use our modern waste processing infrastructure. 2) teach the horses how to use public transit and buy their own food.

Some horses are sort of potty trained. Not by humans (mostly) but seems to be a behavior they learn from other horses as a foal. I know a couple who prefer to go in corners and one who lived in a partially wooded field and preferred to go in the wooded section. Some of them get really upset if they have to go and aren't allowed to use their preferred spots. They only really apply that to #2, but race horses get drug tested after every race...as in they get sent to a stall after the race and no one gets to leave until a urine sample is collected...and by reports some of them have learned to respond to a specific whistle.
@MichaelUrocyon
@MichaelUrocyon 3 ай бұрын
@@kray3883 the plan is already coming together, but to really work we either need constantly flowing water through the stalls to wash excrement into the sewage or they need to learn to flush. It's not a huge leap I think if they're already conditioned to go in the corner to also kick a button or something

To be honest that song is somewhat unfair to Nixon. He didn't help the situation at all, but the President doesn't normally have the authority to tell the national guard to do anything let alone occupy a college campus. His guilt was deciding to get rid of some of the draft deferments which congress went along with. Which instigated that round of protests. But it was the Mayor and the Governor who panicked and decided to send the National Guard into the campus with live ammo. Just like when someone sends the National Guard in this time it will be a decision by the Governor of that State not Biden.
