Wellington 'Double Decker' No. 47 and other MOTAT Trams ~ 18/02/2024 (HD)

Yet another visit to the MOTAT tram line up in Auckland, although the main reason I went there this time was to see the ex-Wellington double-decker tram. We'll also see two ex-Melbourne trams (examples of the SW6 and W2 classes) as well as a rare Baldwin-built steam tram locomotive.
(Filmed on Sunday February 18th, 2024. This was one of MOTAT's monthly 'Live Days'; usually the only time when they run the double-decker tram).

Went to Auckland for the first time went on 893(I'll have to double check that) sad that I could not go on any of the wellington trams as a wellingtononion? The Auckland network was shut down for mattince too sadly The heritage railway was not on yet too

You can only shake your head and sigh when thinking about how extensive New Zealand's tram networks once were. The country is going backwards for so many reasons, but its a particularly acute demonstration of our national stupidity.

And I was frustrated to hear that Wellington got rid of its trolley buses some time ago, as if the tram network's closure in 1964 wasn't stupid enough.
