My favorite description of this time in a woman's life is a slowing down and cocooning for a transformation. One phase of our life is finishing, but the next adventure is just beginning. ☺

Prayers for your journey! We all get off track sometimes. Give yourself grace and get back on. I did carnivore 3 days and it was like the brain fog lifted and i really felt good, not sluggish. I went back to meat 2 days ago and feel better already. Im diabetic, so that diet really helps. 😊

I completely understand the roller coaster of hormones that you're experiencing. I'm almost 51, and am pot menopausal. I do take plant based estrogen, and I'm so thankful for a hormone specialist. I'm also working on my diet, and I think you've got a great plan as far as keto/carnivore approach. I also walk every day that weather allows, and am getting ready to start back on some lower weight exercises. We can do this!

I had a hysterectomy when I was 23. Everything gone, instant menopause. It was awful. And of course has a lot to do with my weight issues. So glad to have a new Wellness Wednesday and that you don’t give up ❤ You are an inspiration for me!!

I had fibroids years ago and just put up with a lot. When it became a twice a month, I knew something had to be done. A lady from church told me honey, once you've had your kids having a partial hysterectomy is the greatest gift a woman can give herself. She was right I have never regretted have the surgery. October will be 12yrs.

I had awful heavy periods and it basically was my ending trail of menopause. Also heavy bleeding also causes low iron, I took iron supplements and saw some improvement with energy.

Great to see you again. Are you still homesteading? Driveway water drainage improved? Any gangsta animals seeking to eat your chickens? I still chuckle thinking about that episode. May you find blessings and healing from God's mighty hands.
@freedomhomesteadky2 ай бұрын
LOL! No gangsta animals lately! Water draining MUCH improved. This year we just had a very small garden. Enough to eat fresh. Still have our chickens though.

Oh my gosh, I am almost 55 and that is where I am. I can,t eat all the meat and lots of fat because I have family history that prevents it. Like you I want to lose weight but my concentration right now is on being healthy and hopefully the rest will fall into place.

You have stairs in your house. Consider 1 round trip per day while using proper posture to get a maximum benefit to your core. After a few days to a week, bump it up to 2 rounds per day; they dont havevto be contiguous.

It's so nice to see you making videos again. I'm likely going to get slammed for this and am definitely in the minority here, but I've been plant based on a high carb, low fat diet and it has helped me tremendously. Lost weight, more energy, improved bloodwork numbers. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I'm happy with that lifestyle.

So I’m a care giver ..,my husband is ill and father in-law has dementia and I’m diabetic.. Well, I was fooling myself on what I was eating, but I decided to eat a little bit better. I’m trying to cut sugar completely. It’s been hard, but I’m doing a lot of things that are sugar-free or no sugar or a little bit of sugar or switching to a little honey, but not much , no carbonated soda type drinks. I’m doing lemon basil, water, basil, water, water with lemon water, water, water, water, water a glass of milk you know every so often but I’ve cut back even if I eat a steak. I’m on just half of a steak I’ll give the other half to my husband. We’ve been doing fine. I still eat a lot of vegetables, but I still watch what I eat vegetables, but this three weeks I’ve been on the sodas and I already feel that I’ve lost maybe five or 6 pounds probably water weight maybe but I struggle such a freak like those that smoke cigarettes have that so I felt the same way with the Dr Pepper lol but I need to stick to my gut. I have a new grandbaby, I’m 58. I would like to live a good healthy life. I found out for me. I can’t even have a certain vitamin like over-the-counter from the store. I need something a little bit different maybe a vegan vitamin I’m not even sure I need to do some research but good luck and I do women stick together. We all have some type of issues because women have a different body type we have more fat in our bodies, so are so different 🌸 🌺

It is very possible to essentially get hooked to high fructose corn syrup or sugars. When I say hooked, I am also taking regular withdrawal symptoms like the cravings, runny nose, headaches, amd tje while ball of wax. Pay attention to your sugar sources to discover if there is and difference. With diabetes also pay attention to which sugar sources hit the blood stream the quickest. Reme,Remember, that fructose, the sugar in fruit, hits the blood stream pretty fast and hard. I think I may know why but citrus fruit can hit the blood stream pretty quickly; it is how citrus is processed by the liver and i unspectacular for the same reasons grapefruit and several medications don't mix. Test and alter your portions according to blood sugar as opposed to measuring spoons and cups. Blue berries in ,invited quantities can work; try 1/4 or 1/8th cup portions.

Literally have now found 2 people that have said this is what I am experiencing. Thank you for saying something! I’ve been dealing with this too, cysts, periods lasting 2 weeks to 45 days, then another one 2 weeks later. Then a glimmer of hope and I won’t have one for 2-3 months. Then boom… Extremely heavy, clotty- just disgusting. I’m 52. We’ve talked a few times about a hysterectomy. I have MTHFR which puts me at 33% increased risk of blood clots. No estrogen is safe for me. A hysterectomy can increase your potential for heart attack, stroke and blood clots by 20% or more. If you add those two together, it would put me at more than a 50% risk. I’m just not comfortable with that. My baby brother is 47. He, like our dad, started having heart attacks at 30. He has 14 stents in his heart. My dad had a 5- way bypass just 6 years before he died. He was in congestive heart failure when he committed suicide at 55. That was in 2001. Anyway- I need to find a healthy alternative to not having the hysterectomy.

So in 2012 at 39 I was diagnosed with rectal cancer. I was also having terrible cycles. I tried depo with no results before I knew I had cancer. During my diagnosis it was also found I had fibroids. I had been checked prior and was told no I didn't have them. I started radiation and chemo. 2 wks in I seen a gynecologist bc they were planning a hysterectomy when my rectal tumor and colon resection was done. Well labs that day showed I was suddenly a menopausal woman. Fibroids need estrogen to grow . He said u don't need tye hysterectomy because you now have no estrogen. So here I am not had a cycle since. Been 12 yrs and the hot flashes won't quit but hey no bleeding. So in a sense the rectal cancer treatment cured my other issue . I don't recommend that route lol. Hang in there. If u have to take birth control for quality of life go for it. You might be mindful of the estrogen content or speak w your midwife but if it helps it helps

Berries are an easy way to keep carnivore diet. When you get tired of meat, have some berries, it will help. In regards to pill culture, I was guilty of this my whole life, we bought into the story of quick fix with pills. Unfortunately, we have to learn the hard way how to best disciplined. I was carnivore for 2 years and it was the best time of my life. If I can offer any advice, take every of those cravings and offer it as a sacrifice in honor of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ. When we do this, we learn the right proportion of our suffering compared to His. It's not always easy, but cling on the cross and go forth. Like me and friends in prayer say, let's keep going even if we have to go rolling. ✝️👑🏃♀️🤸♀️ God bless you.

More woman need to talk about this. You think you are the only one dealing with these issues. I dealt with feeling like a teenager again. I would have a period for 28 days and relief for a week and then another period. And not just a period. But heavy! I would bleed through a tampon and a pad in less than an hour. And the cramps were Horrendous. I had to try the birth control route that didn’t work finally was able to get a hysterectomy and what a relief that was!

Same here - hysterectomy was the only solution for me. I was so anemic.

Consider bio-identical hormones...a safer option than the pill....doses can be adjusted up or down to help balance your hormones. It is a "compounded" drug, so many doctors won't do it. Some Nurse practioners or a functional medicine doc will prescribe. Praying you get it all straightened out. ❤
