She was actually very sick for this performance. Thats why her voice sounds strained. She has never canceled an appearance or concert for any reasons

Yes, Clive Davis, who controlled her label for 15 years. She wasn’t allowed to sing what she wanted. She chose a different label after her contract with Davis was up. Kelly also has an autoimmune disease that wrecks havoc with weight.

Ironically she wanted to go a little more rock and her record label said it was too dark and practically forbid it. Delayed her album, didn’t promote it well, canceled and downsized a tour

She's incredible live, but the poor audio "mix" definitely was distracting from her performance. Clive Davis was the one in the audience and he was a big part of why she was unhappy with her original label.
