In the books it says that the Mariner Valley region of Mars was settled, largely, by people from East India and a small number of people from Texas. The Texas accent became the prevalent accent for the region. Hence, the Mariner Valley Texan accent.

I loved the scene where Jules-Pierre was talking with Mei. They hide-and-seek behind the saline bags was great cinematography. Amos' line about not always working in space was unexpected and funny -- but Bobby's reaction was also great. When Alex said "I wish I had your strength", I wonder if he was thinking about his family. I like how food keeps popping up in social contexts. And finally, Avasarala gives good shoulder.

Episode 5 "Triple Point" is great but Episode 5, "Immolation" has to be one of the best episodes of television ever!

Mao's primary interest in the Protomolecule has never been weapons production...he's derided that earlier with Errinwright. His interest is the same as Dresden's. Did you notice what those orbital UN rail guns _looked_ like? There will be a test later. "I didn't always work in space" is funny until you remember Amos was raised in brothels and knows how to entertain pedophiles. Somebody ought to get fired over that power cycling malfunction. Periodically cycling power should have been normal maintenance. These writers know how to write incredible story finales, and there are _two_ of them in season 3.

True, that's a design or maintenance flaw, and the SG should have been warned of that risk earlier. Having said that, earlier the estimate was only 82% success. Pretty much 4 out of 5. So no different. Only Errinwright's post-spin makes it seem different.

Season 4 isn't bad, but I think it's safe to say that it's almost no one's favorite (and definitely not over season 3). Book four is also most readers' least favorite book. 5 and 6 are both better than season 4, IMO.
