Similar to the ceilidh versions of Scottish country dancing. But the music sounds much more 'English' than either Scottish or Irish Celtic music. (Observation, not intending that as an insult or criticism.) Broom dance music sounded more familiar. What does the music of the Welsh/Cornish/Bretton type Gaels sound like?

This is quite a welsh sound. It is very similar to English music and indeed you are correct. The Scots irish sound has its own way and Welsh/English has a much more ancient or medieval sort of sound to it. The solo fiddle tunes after the very first tune in this video are very unique and have their own Welsh sound. Many of the welsh tunes are very easy to recognize and are very different compared to other genres and eventually after a lot of study you can tell Welsh apart from English, Irish, and Scottish music. At the end of the day, all of these styles of music are closely related because the British and Celtic Isles are all so close together culturally. Check out the group “Ar Log” and “Cilmeri” for samples of true Welsh music. Good luck!
