Wales is one of the most underrated country’s in my opinion. Coastline, mountains, castles and welsh cakes what more could you want. Got a trip to snowdonia planned in may walking in the beautiful national park.

Been watching Wolters World across the world for years! So weird watching you in my home country, such familiar video footage! Loved the video! Little corrections on your very good pronunciation: Ba-ra Br-ith, to rhyme with Tara Smith 😂 The 'cawl' you tried - cawl is welsh for soup, and is pronounced like Simon 'Cowell' 😂

I was in cardiff yesterday and I heard two English lads talking one was saying "Wales has nothing to be proud of its a shithole" This is the level of racism and ignorance levelled at my home country Wales everyday. We need to fight this more with food, sing-song and education! I was gonna give the lads a fiery lecture but I figured, if they were that ignorant then its just gonna get ugly real fast! Lol Great video thanks Wolters World :)

Welsh have plenty to be proud about. Inventors of the ball bearing, Packet Switching, first fuel cell, first wearable hearing aid, Lawn Tennis, Queenborough rules, etc. And you have had people like Sir George Everest, Bertrand Russell, Sir Gareth Edwards, Martha Hughes Cannon, Joe Calzague, Gareth Bale, Richard Burton, Sir Henry Morgan, Bartholomew Roberts, Robert Recorde, Inigo Jones, etc. Can't keep going as the list is far too long. Oh another few, Roald Dahl, Hedd Wyn, Dylan Thomas. 😉

I moved to North Wales from Boorminum 3 years ago. Iknow shitholes. I've also had racism from a diverse range of ethnicities (West Indian, Indian, East European Welsh, Irish etc etc etc).. Guess what I did? Absolutely nothing because it's just words. Some people don't engage brain before opening mouth.

Also, north Wales (Anglesey and Gwynedd) has such a wide variety of amazing restaurants and artisan foods, it's such a good place to go if you want a 'foodie' holiday, with great walks to go on after too!!

A whole nations traditional food completely simplified right there. Bara Brith translates to Speckled Bread and Welsh Cakes or more commonly Bake Stones / Griddle Scones are made on a Bake Stone (my family still makes them this way) and can be eaten with a topping but really don’t need anything. You will find these on Welsh Tea tables and men’s lunch boxes and have done for generations

4:00 the Beers. The beer here in Wales can be wonderful, however you can also get rather bad pints of it. They have their own nicknames. Brains SA was known as Skull Attack. Felinfoel was the first beer to be sold in cans and was the beer I drank when I first started boozing. However, it is notorious as being temperamental. A bad pint was known locally as 'Feeling foul'. The worst hangover I ever had was from 3 pints of Feeling Foul. Tiny Rebel is from Newport, Brains is from Cardiff, Felinfoel is from Llanelli, Evan Evans is from Llandeilo and Tomos Watkins is from Swansea.

Are the mollusks locally sourced ? I ask because even in FL mollusks seem to come from Asia. Got to spend a day in Cardiff while visiting England in 2016. Loved it. When to Dr Who Adventure.. Didn’t think of going over to the production studio to ask for a tour! DUH! Didn’t want to spend time at the castle but walked the High street and actually ate middle eastern food. It was good. I stayed in Llantwit Major many years ago, lovely. Wife & I wandered the cemetery (one of the weird things I enjoy). The number of graves of the boys killed in the Great War brought home how enormous the toll was for all of Britain. Loved the laverbread at breakfast. Was taken to a pub in Cowbridge one night where I was given strong drink to excess because I couldn't buy a round to save my life. "My turn." "Never, Lad." Later found I had been drinking with the owner of the pub, an off-duty barmaid, a pensioner and an injured construction worker named Robbie. My name is David so they called me Dai. What wonderful memories of a gorgeous country that have stayed with me nearly 30 years.
