Welsh Guards celebrate St David's Day with 5RAR Birthday and HRH Royals of Wales

Members of the 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, along with The 1st Battalion Welsh Guards celebrated 01 March 2023 with a visit from the Welsh Guards' new Royal Colonel, His Royal Highness Prince William, Prince of Wales. He was accompanied on his inaugural visit by his wife, Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales.
The day marked the 58th birthday of the 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, the 122nd Birthday of the Australian Army, and for the Welsh Guards; St. David’s Day. The full-day event at Combermere Barracks, consisting of a parade, a rugby match, and music by the Band of the Welsh Guards, was watched on by families and Veterans from the Welsh Guards Association.

I had no idea 5 RAR had been present. UK media strangely silent but then UK media are silent about most things except climate change and pop culture. Every military formation is enhanced by the presence of Australians.
