What a beautiful story! A great part of my family is Welsh, and as far as I understand it, St. David is remembered fondly in Wales to this day. A great many coal miners line my family tree, and I wonder on what occasions in the poor conditions under the earth their minds drifted to the dear stories of the saint. It’s great to know that even among Eastern Orthodox communities, his holiness recalled fondly in far away lands as in the British Isles. I hope to find books about him, as well as to take comfort while reading about him in the Lives of the Saints. I aspire to become a catechumen before the end of the year. Saint David, Pray for us, and help us to do the little things!

I suppose that means my family owes your family a bit of an apology for those conditions. My father's side is Welsh, but specifically from one of the main families that owned those mines since before the anglo-saxon invasion...
@Dan-mw1le4 жыл бұрын
@@MikhalisBramouell You owe us no apology, the only inherited sins are those of Adam and those familial practices unreflected on with regards to the teachings of the lord. Christ frees us from these either way. My hope is that mine owner and miner are united in heaven as one, near to God and joyous. My father's family, although partly Welsh, was primarily English, and a few were themselves noblemen, and others serfs or peasants. Parts of my family commanded others, just as your may have commanded mine but it's of no matter now. Some of mine may have commanded yours as well. Even my great-great grandfather, the welsh immigrant, married the daughter of the owner of the mine that he worked in.

I don't know if you have noticed or not, but apart from your lovely vid about St David, your filming of the sky at 1: 45 minutes caught a very bright meteor (a fireball) on your film. To see night-time meteors is very common but to catch one in the daylight and to film it is much rarer. To be this bright in the daytime this meteor must be very bright and may even have impacted somewhere, making it a meteorite. Just thought I'd bring this to your attention, I've been doing astronomy for over fifty years and I've only seen a few daylight meteors in that time span ...but to be lucky enough to film one is quite rare. Well done, and thanks for the great St David vid.

@heinrich30884 жыл бұрын
I don't want to put polemics into the section of the commentaries, this is would be an antichristian act- but why do you always place the word "orthodox" in pre-schism western saints? Do you have any evidence that this man, for instance, rejected Fillioque? If you don't stop using the language game...
@eldermillennial83304 жыл бұрын
MindseT He wouldn’t have even known about it. That innovation had yet to reach that part of the world in his lifetime, so the Creed was still Orthodox as he spoke it. Regardless, there was no distinction between “Catholic” and “Orthodox” at that time. Furthermore, denominationalism wasn’t a thing yet anyway. They thought more in terms of “True Christians” and “heretics”.
@Trisagionfilms4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Filioque was not introduced into the Creed until the mid 6th century in Spain and was not imposed onto the whole Western Church until after the year 800 by Charlemagne’s theologians. Yes, St. David was both Catholic (as belonging to the one Catholic and Apostolic Church) and Orthodox in his faith.
