No not only old people say that, i still know many people who prefer using komórka rather than telefon. (easier for foreigners tho) I think its like always in our country, in some areas its more common and in other areas its not. Pozdro! ;)

8:54 It should be: ołówek z gumką. Ołówek means "a pencil". Gumka means "a rubber". (Colloquially, it also appears as a synonym for "a condom", as it does in American English.) A pencil often has a rubber. Długopis means a pen. I suppose a pen rarely has a rubber. You are doing very well, in my opinion you pronounce all the sounds well. "Nie widzę" means "I don't see". "I don't know" in Polish is: "Nie wiem". You can also say: "Nie pamiętam", which means "I don't remember/ I can't remember".
