@@mildlydispleased3221 the Tories threw away around ten billion on dodgy covid contracts alone. That's just the contracts they paid for but which were never delivered on. Not counting the contracts that were fulfilled but that they gave out at multiple times the industry rate resulting in profit margins in the hundreds of percent. Likely another couple of billion in overspend there too. Mostly given out to friends and relatives of government ministers who'd never supplied medical equipment before in their lives so just ordered it in from china. While there were established British PPE suppliers without personal ties to the government selling their products to Europe because our government wasn't interested in buying from them

Vaughn Gethin brings very little to the position of first minister. In 12 weeks in that position he has brought shame to the position, deleting messages specifically to avoid the potential to have to reveal the contents in a FOI request, but also, by accepting a donation from someone who has 2 convictions for environmental issues is at best - naive and at worst irresponsible. He should go before doing more damage.

If you genuinely believe he got as far as he has because he is the most qualified candidate out of 30 Welsh MPs then I have some magic beans to sell you. He lost the vote as people in his own party think he is not qualified to do the job. I realise you may not understand this coming from Swindon but the fact that he lost a no confidence vote means he’s not qualified for the job or didn’t you realise that. Whatever you say I know Humza Yousaf was not qualified to be first minister and the same goes for Leo varadkar who probably rose up the ranks not because of his ability but the fact he ticked the boxes of being gay and non white. The fact that they are both ex first ministers only proves my point.

The response to my original post tells you everything about how the left look to stifle debate and how this so called woke ideology has become a sacred cow that cannot be questioned. I received two comments, the first from a Swindon fan who immediately deleted his post when I pointed out facts to him. The second response was the classic calling me racist for having an opinion that differs from theirs and closes down all debate. I also noted 31 likes to my post with only 4 likes to the racist comment and this on a C4 presentation whose viewers and producers are inherently left leaning. If we now live in a country where you cannot question the ability of someone because of the colour of their skin then we might as well hand the keys of the asylum over to the inmates

He was bragging, only a few weeks ago about being the first black man to be the first minister of a westernise country, which is of no importance, but he placed a lot of importance on it and now he’s been linked to dodgy dealings. As a consequence of the vote of no confidence, he must step down for the good of democracy here in Wales, and because it’s the right thing to do, I guess they’ll be no tokenism statue for him moving forward as he’s brought the Labour Party into disrepute with his dodgy dealings,his colour is of no relevance here but he was bragging about being the first man of colour to hold a position of power as first Minister of Wales, I guess that didn’t last too long did it. we support all people regardless of colour, race, religion, or background to reach for their dreams as everyone is of value. That’s what we believe in here in Wales and so we welcomed him to his post as first minister, but unfortunately he has brought Welsh democracy into disrepute, and has violated the ministerial code, so it’s only right that he should step down in the interests of the party and Welsh democracy. 🤣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

His father is a white Welshman and his mother comes from Zambia. Vaughan Gething has as much Welsh ancestry as anyone else in Wales. Humphrey Vaughan ap David Gething's father met his wife when he was living and working in Zambia.
