@@velcroman11 Yes we do. We need to take an activist role by being involved in community bands and busking on street corners. I was a US Army Bandsmen. I actually played trombone but a tuba buddy of mine and I would sit in a gazebo in a downtown park in Colorado Springs and play tuba and euphonium duets. We would dress up in our Nordic cross country ski outfits. We called ourselves "Sven and Eric, the Plumber Brothers". We did have a hat out for donations. We usually got enough money to get beer and pizza afterward. It was just fun.

I've had to hand my euphonium in after I quit the band I was in. It's been over 2 years and I still miss her every single day. This is one of my most favourite pieces in the world and I often come back here to listen to it. Some day I'll be able to afford one and when that day comes I'll play it like there's no tomorrow

Euphonium is the perfect duet/solo instrument because it is the most human sounding instrument aside from the human voice. these guys make it almost feel like they're singing through the horns and it's beautiful

The euphonium makes the moste beautiful sound of all the brass insturments. This rendition of Pearl Fishers duet by David and Robert Childs proves it without a doubt. I've been playing the euphonium for 71 years and still going strong playing in three diferent bands.

I was given my first euphonium in 1965 by Western Suburbs Police and Citizens Boys Club. The eupho was engraved "Manly Municipal Brass Band 1915". Thank you Manly Municipal Brass Band for donating the instrument. I wonder where it is today in 2017. Naturally I have my own eupho now. I hope it is still being played, now at 102 years old.

I know that feeling, friend. I played trumpet for two years and was dreadful at it. My teacher finally realized my lips were just too big and my embouchure was never right. I switched to euphonium in 8th grade and never looked back. It's been 9 years and now I got my degree in music education and I'm teaching lots of little aspiring euphonium players! :)

Beautiful rendition of a beautiful piece of music. I am a woodwind player, but thoroughly enjoy ALL instruments in the hands of very proficient people! Euphoniums, like the baritone horn, are underrated in their ability to produce haunting, intoxicating melodies. And what a joy to play with your dad on this wonderful piece of Bizet's brilliance! In later years, David will cherish these videos as he cherishes these moments now.

Just about the most beautiful duet in all of opera, and how magnificent on the mellow-voiced euphoniums (euphonia? I never took Latin). Name of the instrument means "sweet sound." Since euphonium is a tenor instrument, can't help wondering how the baritone part of the vocal duet would sound on tuba. Also...whether British or American English, love to hear it well-spoken, so happy when emcee says, "...AS you've never heard it before," not "...LIKE you've never..."

A valve is the piping on the Euphonium. The euphonium has 3-4 valves. Every one of them has a different sound. combined together they make more musical notes. Its where the soloist or player has thier hands. The shafts in the film are the actual valves. I've been playing Euphonium for about 7 years, and David is good.
