Delighted to see and hear this Welte playing again. It is a Welte Concert Orchestrion.

Stunning! Good to see Dutch street organ 'De Kameel' (the camel) in the background as well!

Das größte Welte-Orchestrion ist m. E. in Speyer im Technikmuseum! Ein überwältigender Klang - wir haben es heute gehört! Zum ersten Mal gab‘s dort eine Drehorgelserenade!

Thanks for posting this video so we can all enjoy this 'relatively unknown' Welte around the world! Needs a tiny amount of tuning here but otherwise sounds nice to me.

Much agreed, it interesting to see this after starting restoration on my Astor! Even this seems to operate with similar principles!

Can we see more videos of instruments in this collection?
@AMMILAB5 жыл бұрын
Of course, keep an eye on AMMILAB site, we periodically publish new videos, even from this Collection: sites.google.com/view/ammi-lab/home

Will you folks be restoring the Gebruder Bruder "orchester orgel" (aka "Elite Orchestra Apollo") 65-keyless fairground organ in the near future? I heard it was in a collection/museum in Italy and presume it is this same one, but maybe I'm wrong (I don't know very much yet about the Italian mechanical music scene). It was also supposed to be in rough condition due to woodworm, but still restorable. Supposedly that one is the first 65-keyless Gebruder Bruder of that scale ever built, and the ancestor of the Wurlitzer 165 band organ.

In this collection there is a 70 key Gebruder Wellershaus. The fairground organ is working but the original cardboards are not in good condition. However, we may publish a video of it in the future

@@AMMILAB So you have bought the 65 keyless Gebruder Bruder "Elite Orchestra Apollo" Andrew mentioned?
@AMMILAB Жыл бұрын
@@sammorex2543 no, it's not in this Collection

Sorry Sam and AMMI folks, I was mistaken about in which collection in Italy the Gebruder Bruder organ is located. It might be in a private collection rather than a museum. I am not sure but I hope it is eventually restored and am very happy for the nice videos from this collection!

Is this Welte a style 4 or a style 5
@AMMILAB4 жыл бұрын
we have not found the serial number, it could be style 5 or style 6. It has 294 pipes, it is probably style 6
@andrewbarrett15374 жыл бұрын
@@AMMILAB Yes, apparently the other style 6s have 294 pipes, according to the chart here. Fantastic to know another style 6 exists. I know about the other three but had only heard a rumor of a fourth one extant (and the article below says FIVE exist, which is incredible). This must be the fourth or fifth one known! Does this orchestrion have clarinet pipes? If so, they might be hidden behind the front "Zinn" (principal) pipes, like the Frick Mansion Welte style 6, and also like the Budapest style 6, rather than in a special compartment in the front like one of the others. www.mechanicalmusicpress.com/history/welte/wt_ageop.htm

We found Nr 5 stamped in front side of windchest. It could be style 5 but with 294 pipes...
