Just curious, could I use yoghurt instead of sourdough? I know it's not the same but I am wondering if it would work too?
@Kooikermom Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t think so, sourdough helps it rise so it isn’t too dense
@BabalonNuit Жыл бұрын
No; sourdough is a "leavening agent" like yeast; meaning it produces carbon dioxide bubbles which "lift" and lighten the texture of the bread. Without it the bread would be a solid block of grains.
@geekchick4859 Жыл бұрын
Actually, the OP says that you can leave out the sourdough. So yeah, yoghurt probs would work.
@barbarawoodyoga Жыл бұрын
With that short of a rising time as described in the video the sourdough would not have any leavening effect. Which proved to be the case when I tried it. The loaf was dense. In principle I like the graininess of this recipe, but if I bake it again I‘d add double, or triple the amount of sourdough and let it ferment over night plus I‘d lessened the amount of salt.
