Calgary CTrain in Action II - June 2018

Calgary's Light Rail - known as 'CTrain' is the region's highly-efficient light-rail system operated by Calgary Transit.
Two lines are currently operational - the blue line between 69 Street and Saddletowne - and the red line between Tuscany and Somerset-Bridlewood. Centre Street station is on both routes, while Rundle and 69 Street stations are on the blue line only. Heritage is served by the red line only.

I really don’t see how the old trains are old in any way; in fact, they look new. I say this because the Breda trains in SF were produced in around the same era and look like it’s been running for 50 years, whereas these look like trains that are yes, in fact, approx. 30 years old, but look like it was their first 5 years in service

I wonder if the newer LRVs in 4-car formation can be used on Manila's LRT Line 1. That one uses the same standard: 4-car sets with each car single-articulated, and 4 doors per side. But it is configured as 'Light Metro' and fully grade-separated. Serves almost 500,000 pax daily pre pandemic, so it's almost heavy rail/rapid transit.

The new CTrain is very VERY bad it sucks the old ones are better plus they don’t even look like old so WHY THE HELL ARE THEY GETTING SCRAPPED 😡😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Because the old U2 trains (ones with the blue striped livery) are loud, inefficient, slow, have poor accesibility, are terrible for cyclists cuz of the literal poles in the middle of the doorway, and in my opinion are very uncomfortable despite having the old padded seats which are their only advantage.
