From personal experience, you will one day regret not ALWAYS wearing safety glasses. Spent an entire weekend having an urgent care...then an emergency department...and finally an ophthalmologist work on getting a tiny metal shaving out of my eye (which is one of the worst feelings ever). Thanks for the video!

I was wearing goggles and ended up having to have a piece of metal scraped out of my right eye. Sucks!

Dead on. Couldn't agree more. I walked into a metal shop once in Portland, Oregon and two feet inside the door, not wearing goggles, I got hit in the eye with a piece of wire from an angle grinder with a wire wheel that had to fly about 50 feet to hit me.

the 'bump' you hear is nothing to worry about, you'll find its likely the weld (where the blade was welded together) passing over a wheel or some other part of your saw.. You can buy replacement bandsaw blade in rolls too, and make your own custom lengths. Nice review!

Awesome review. This is probably the best review I've seen on this bandsaw. Thank you!

Ben Dover thanks so much! I have another one coming out for the larger model of this saw as well!

I have this saw too, and am also very happy with it. Took a little debugging at first to find true 0 degrees, but after that it's spot on and rock solid.

So glad! Mine ended up getting stolen and my new one isn't as good! Should've rebought what was tried and true. You live and learn.

I bought one of these after seeing your review and thank you! I didn't know this saw was out there previously. A swivel head bandsaw is what I wanted but didn't want to spend 800 on a Grizzly. I have been very happy with mine

Glad you like it! Sometimes you don’t need to spend $800 to get the job done!

Thanks for the review, it was really insightful. I'm trying to decide between a small bandsaw like this or a cold cut saw.

Great review,,, I'm planning to buy one, I'm not a heavy metal builder so this one is perfect for me, better then my HFT chop saw which by the way is way louder...

Did you end up getting it?

Is there any way to make this stand perfectly vertical? I'm looking for a better option than my Milwaukee with swag table. And I mean is there any way to modify it to stand vertical?

Yea am too. I think FEMI makes one for their bandsaw that might work

Nice review. Been looking at this saw. What were you spraying on the work piece while cutting?

What do you think of the wen 3970? It's a bulkier, but I think it's what I'd have to go with.
@summervilleduke27197 жыл бұрын
It's definitely not as good! But if you are willing to take the time to set it up and customize it for yourself, it'll probably do well.

Do you think it's worth it to set some kind of IV drip contraption with lubrication to prolong the teeth of the saw? Would be kinda messy with out some type of catch/containment system. Thanks for the review!
@summervilleduke27197 жыл бұрын
I can't see a reason not too if you're cutting all of the time. However, it's going to get very messy though! I found that using my little spray bottle worked as good as I would have hoped.

One thing is water based coolants should have corrosion inhibitors. I used tap water and dish soap 50/50 to lube my jigsaw blade while cutting 3/8” Plexiglass. To my dismay, I notice a couple rust stains on my blades a few minutes after job was completed. I heard water/liquid detergent/kerosene was even a better lube. I’ll see how that goes. Also, they have tubes of cutting paste. You can dress your blade with that also.

Can you put a piece to cut and walk away of do you need to stay to put pressure on?

I have one of these 5" band saws under the name of Holzmann. I rate it very poorly because the bearings sound rough and it gets through 1435mmX 14tpi blades every other week.
