got the smaller one, and I love it. frequency depends on what I'm doing but I've had it about 2 weeks. Orders extra filters but see you can "clean" them, may send back, lol. I'm looking for a pm2.5 sensor for automation purposes now. Only issue is it's RF and not IR, where there's a will there's a way!

@@AlaskaWorkshop yeah I work out of a 10x10 atm and I leave it running 24/7 and there's nearly no dust settled whenever I come in the next time I work in the shop

Congrats on the shop upgrade! I don't have one of those yet, but I do try to catch as much dust as possible at the source and invested in festool specifically because of how well the dust extraction is. I only have a festool vac, tracksaw and two sanders, but I've been very impressed with how little dust makes it outside of the vac.

My son even has a festool sander, I guess I need an upgrade!!

@@AlaskaWorkshop They're well worth the asking price. I sold all my other power sanders to put towards the upgrade. I have the ets ec 150/5 as my main sander, and recently bought the rts 400 when I had a job where I needed to sand the edges of some thick worktops. Excellent dust collection with both using my ct midi i. I know I probably should still wear a mask, but so little dust escapes into the air I haven't bothered.

Hey Mike, that's a great addition to your shop. I've had mine about 18 months. It does a good job of clearing the airborne dust from sanding and the miter saw. I like the timer function, I can let it run for an hour or so after painting or glue ups.

Now that you have had the unit for a year, do you still like it and has it been trouble free? I have two Jet AFS-1000b's in my 420 sq ft (9' ceiling) shop that have now both failed (admittedly after good use, the first failed at 15 years and the second just recently at 19 years of hobbyist use - maybe 500 hours/yr). The new Jet 1000c units won't easily go in the same space, so I am looking at the WEN 1270 as a replacement, and I might only go with one as a single Jet did fine in cleaning the air at medium speed.

Totally worth it, I really like the timers on it. I set it to run for 2 hours after I am done and I don't have to remember to go shut it down. Been running trouble free, I can only hope I get 19 years!
