Being polite during a robbery is a somewhat common strategy, essentially it catches people off guard and makes them a lot more calm and thus less likely to retaliate. If the person with a bomb is yelling and acting crazy you might assume they are going to blow everyone regardless so why not try to take them out? But the polite man making sure everyone is okay clearly doesn't want to hurt you so you don't take the chance.

However, when they’re already on life sentences or death row etc. why would they not? An example of the later being a serial killer accused of the murder of a twenty something girl iirc that always denied it and even wrote the mother saying that it really wasn’t him and that he has no reason to lie. He wanted for her that the real killer was found so she could get proper closure through possible answers as to where the body was and the circumstances. Don’t know which one it was but I think if you Google it you’ll find that.

@frog14053 жыл бұрын
I mean, it makes sense. A deer hunter more than likely grew up in the area and has a pretty good idea of the lay of the land, and what's normal and what isn't, so they're more likely to notice something off and check it out, even subconsciously. It's proven to have happened a couple of times, not necessarily deliberately but because the killer who got killed fit the other guy's "type." There's a theory that the Black Dahlia was a victim of a previously unknown serial killer, who was employed by studios to disappear young actresses who got impregnated on the casting couch. Few people realize that during the "Golden Age of Hollywood", movie producers were basically mob bosses. I wish you had included the " suicide" of the original Superman, George Reeves, who had been having an affair with a studio head's wife. For whatever reason, he decided to beat himself up before shooting himself. And then, based on what the mortician identified as postmortem hematosis (bruising), somehow continued beating g himself up after he had already killed himself with an instant shot.

Ma ora siamo davanti alla Corte d’Assise e lei è imputato di sedici omicidi.” Which roughly translates to: “Good, good, we agree with the sentiment. Concerned that this new person might discover them, they took this opportunity to kill. Or perhaps the maid even found the person in the barn, the murderer acted, and kept murdering when one of the other members of household went to check on things (i.e. if they heard a noise, or noticed that the maid had been gone a while). When *that* person didn't come back, or made a noise, then the next one would go out to look, and the same thing would happen all over again.

Why is there a statute of limitation on rape. Make these people fear being caught for the rest of their lives. Edit for some clarification: If the statute of limitations is raised, it doesn't change anything socially about false accusations. IE Jeremy soule, who has had an accusation ~10 years after the incident, supposedly happened. If there was solid evidence that was found 10 years later (unlikely but possible), he should still be tried. I have serious doubts about this particular case, considering there was no legal action taken at all (you can still sue for emotional damages, I believe), but the point still applies.

The Terry Sutter case was heartbreaking, not only was he 15 when he was murdered, his grave was vandalized multiple times, and people then tried to blame him. “Well maybe he did something wrong.” Even if he did do something wrong, he was only 15 years old, committing murder and grave vandalizing isn’t the right answer.

While the Amber Alert system has indeed helped recover missing children, it doesn't get reported that the majority of these cases aren't the result of "stranger danger" but cases of parental custody disputes, when one estranged partner takes the child without authorization. Most of the time the child is recovered quickly and without incident.
@johnclaybaugh9536 Жыл бұрын
Those of us who get alerts and also get updates are generally told who took the kid when the information becomes available. All one has to do is pay attention and we know that stranger danger isn't really the biggest concern.

honestly this is really true. The amber alert r rarely “actual” kidnapping & just a parent taken their kid that they have no custody of, or a young 13-15 y/o girl running off w/her 20 somethin “boyfriend”. & then again, there has been s3x trafficking alerts that r really serious

About the Boy in the Box (around 1:16:00): Someone who came forward and was able to give some remarkable details about the victim, but who also had a history with mental problems . You could see this as a reason for her to not be reliable, sure. But assuming she was the sister and she was right about it all, she would have been abused by her mother at a very young age. According to the so called sister, the mother accidentally killed her own son. Growing up with that many people would suffer from mental issues in my opinion. So I would not be surprised at all to hear that the woman is the actual sister of the victim, and was right about it all.

@@ringoferrer2343 Welcome to the world of the letter of law and forensics, where mental illness is just as stigmatized as the freaking 1920s so any information from someone with history of even ADHD is thrown out. The Hinterfaifeck Massacre has always haunted me. True crime usually doesn't bug me but the idea that this man seemingly wandered out of the woods and began living in their house/barn without them knowing (aside from some noises and a maid saying the house was haunted) before murdering the entire family is terrifying. It's similar to other stories of people living in other people's homes without the owners knowing. Some in attics but also some impoverished people living in whatever tiny cubboard they could fit themselves in. At this very moment there could be someone living in your closest, a room you haven't checked or even a cub board and you'd have no idea. It's the type of thing that keeps you up at night.
